Yes please to Luxembourg and the Minissima for £2 too then.  If he throws in the Esprit submarine in for a quid then that rounds out to a tidy tenner including the Adams.

The Adams dragster looks really good; one or two small marks but very bright and clean overall. Canopy unmarked and the 'drag brake' (I assume that's what the bit that pops out the back is meant to be) present and functional. Certainly looks worth a punt for a fiver.

I'd be most surprised if he guarantees anything, but I'll see if I can turn up a 9v battery to test the Chevy van radio. Battery cover is missing but wiring still appears to be present and correct.

Tyrell looks to be roughly 1/43 scale, but then I'm not really sure what size a real-life 70s F1 car is! Smaller than Scalextic, though.

I'll check and see, before assuming owt about prices - this box was hidden under the stall, and there was a fair bit of random junk dumped in it which I had to scoop out of the way (including, you'll note, a mirror and a teapot lid still visible).

I can't say for sure whether the bit of cardboard stating £2 belongs to this box - he has various other boxes of postcards, badges, coins etc, and it's possible the sign relates to one of those.

With the best will in the world, he never prices up his diecast and also seemed rather firm on the £5 price point earlier - and when the Camaro sold, he put the orange Mercedes C111 in its place - but I shall bop over shortly and make enquiries.

 

Is that a yes to the Adams and the Luxumbourg van (if working) at £5 each, with the other Minissima and 007 Esprit only if cheap?

The Datsun is pretty good and probably worth a fiver - that's what it was priced at last week. The SD1's a bit scuffed, so I'd say it's not worth £5.

But I shall ask and report back...

Sure thing - I had a brief look on eBay there, and it seems a fiver is about the going rate these days for a played-with Triplex SD1 - will look at it in more detail and see if it seems okay for the money!

Sadly, he wasn't budging on the price of the Minissima or the Bond Esprit (which is missing its rockets but seems otherwise functional with spring-out fins, stabilisers etc all present and correct).

The '£2' sign had also been removed from the box. It was not, apparently, meant to be in there.

He's definitely doting if he wants a fiver for some very humdrum Corgi Juniors that are no better than 50p box grade...

The man's an enigma. But he might change his tune next week, hey? Just seemed a smidge mardy today, despite the fact I keep stuffing tenners into his hand.

Oh, and the Corgi Range Rover has a damaged roof and glazing, with the o/s A-pillar cracked at the bottom. At a pound, or two at the outside, then mebbe.

But a fiver...

Hopefully this'll fill a gap in the collection! And I'll keep an eye out for another Datsun.

Not in terrific condition, and probably not worth a fiver, BUT I have a dim plan to maybe strip this one and repaint it red like the Dyane my parents owned in the late '70s.

I have no idea what the Napoleonic duck is all about.

I also wouldn't fancy my chances towing much with one of these...

I paid twenty odd quid for my bond esprit from a toy fair - no box and no rockets. However the paint was immaculate and the plastic had not yellowed which most do.

   The X1/9 & Growlers E-Type are both nice,but it's the Volvo I'm happiest with.It's quite a rare colour,& will go nicely with the others I seem to have collected ?

If anyone has any in other colours that aren't here to sell or trade please let me know.I know there are dark grey,metallic purple,and possibly yellow versions out there.

Save the stickers though, I’ve never seen them reproduced. Happily transfer them to my Dyane example in the brighter yellow colour

I already have one but like the mauve whizzwheels Rover 2000 they just seamed such fun toys when I was eleven. 

Love Dinky toys as I do they seemed more 'worthy' (like the difference between 'Look in' and a 'Tell me why' kids magazines).
