Doesn't happen often and I can usually resist, but every so often a model comes out where despite the cost, the Wantage is huge.deapite having been a reliant superfan (see what I did there) I managed to not buy the recent 1.43 scale robin made by matrix models. However,I have just seen cult models who it turns out have already done the maxi, princess,I think marina and no doubt others, have released a 1.18 scale Allegro,in a few different colours. I do love a big model, and the memory evocation and potential for dioramas is huge!

Didn't find much in the way of new diecast while I was mooching around Norfolk over the last few days, although the collectibles shop in Great Yarmouth had a long card Matchbox Jaguar on the pegs

Most spendy find was this new set of Hot Wheels I picked up in Smyths, all very nice castings, particularly the Drag Beetle that hardly ever appears these days

The next one's just a wheel donor, in fact I might try chopping the engine out of that ^ too and sticking it in the back of a Beetle. Maybe

It's really lovely innit? Somebody pointed out the 'huge error' on it though which I'm afraid I can't unsee now (I won't ruin it for you).

The Matrix Robin is pretty crappy I think. I've wanted a 1:43 Robin for my entire life but I found the general shape of that one so disappointing (although th details are great) that I'm not fussed about it at all. The partwork Robin Van is so much better, for a fraction of the price, although it's a saloon I really want...

Yes the shape of the matrix isn't quite right, and the front wheel is way too far back,on the real thing it's right up against the valance.as you say the van model seems much closer. There is a German 1.43 MK1 saloon airfix style kit I've seen floating about, and of course the old illustra models one which is just a representation of one rather than a proper model

My wife says I have a problem... Still makes me smile when I go into the garage though. Here's the upto date 1/18 and 1/24 collection. Biggest spend to date was the General Lee bought from here, had one as a kid and wanted one again. Might be a slippery slope into more TV/Film 1/18's though and I'm running out of garage real estate!

Had some time to kill whilst my Insignia was being assessed for recall, visited a few shops. Decided against a premium LM002 in Asda (£9 just feels a bit much), should have bought the F&F semi-premium Fairlane in Smyth's, but ended up with this, which wouldn't scan in B&M so the cashier put it through as some chewing gum for £1.39. Bargain.

Fairly slim pickings again today, nothing new at all in 4 shops, but somebody from Tescotainer has made a surprise visit to a store which has had about 4 dog-eared HW in its bin for weeks. They’ve only filled it with old stuff, but there were a few I hadn’t managed to find previously.

XJC has been bought for anyone who hasn’t found one yet as I believe they’re still scarce.

Brush painted Siku Transit from a few weeks ago

Siku V 334 Ford Transit

I find the best way to hide coloured glass is to paint the body a similar colour, so a can of metallic blue from The Range was deployed. I also remembered I had another somewhat unfortunate overpainted one that I think donated a door to one of you lot years ago

Siku V 334 Ford Transit

That one had a shinier base so I used that and fitted the Hot Wheels 50th anniversary rolling stock. Really I should have relieved the inside of the rear arches for a better fit, I've got a bit rusty doing these customs I think. Here are both of them as they currently look

I say currently as really the grille surround should be body colour, and I should have removed the casting lines from the bumpers, so I might go back and mess about some more, or I might leave well enough alone.

I also made a right mess getting some Molotow paint out of an old pen and decanting it into my airbrush to paint this Graffic Traffic properly, I wasn't very happy with the previous brush on effort

PXL_20250904_131650610.jpg.028cf06c4c4b2fa7c5fece7dfb561570.jpg

Now I need to not touch it for about a month or it'll get fingerprints everywhere

Right. So all of the asks here for stuff from Pêle-Mêle/Cora etc... have been got.

Went to the flea market to track down the seller of 1/43s where I bought the Clio from, but by the time I got there, many were packing up. I did see the seller of old matchbox/Majorette etc... but nothing really caught my eye:

I think the seller mumbled something like 2 € each or less if I bought a bundle.

I may go back in the next few days as I want the other Clio the other seller had.

Yep, usual Hong Kong vans. The SD1 was quite tempting. The last one I believe was a weird BMW 3-series.

Same applies as above. Anything you want/see, let me know. I can't promise I'll be able to go back but it is likely I will.

It was a lot less than the ski rack equipped one the current miss Bunglebus bought me for Chr*stm*s last year. What a lovely toy

That's lovely!

I'm still pleased with my green one for £1

Don't think I've seen the pink Charger yet, not the Super is it?

Just a normal one, the supers paint must look incredible.

XR3 and BMW please if possible 👍🏻
