I'd like to make a civilian version in burgundy to match my Matchbox one (and the one owned by my parent's neighbours many years ago). Will do, with the missing lightbar and one or two other minor issues but being basically intact it's ideal for that. Split_Pin 1

That yellow Marzal came from that crappy set Matchbox did with the stick and string. I can’t remember what it was called now. Nice haul there btw. Spottedlaurel 1

Spottedlaurel Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Finally managed to finish another kit this morning, after a busy summer: 1/24 Hasegawa kit, built as a reimagination of a 1:1 car I saw at a couple of Japanese car shows back in the '90s. It fought me in various ways, but it's now in the cabinet and I can make progress with others. Tenmil Socket, andrew e, morrisoxide and 10 others 12 1

warch Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Ordered some new tyres for my Landrover off eBay (coincidentally just replaced the 25 year old ones on my 1:1 scale model). The 60 year old tyres I’d replaced had done remarkably well but weren’t going to pass another MoT Old girl looks much happier now. As you are surely aware I own more model Landrovers than I can actually remember but this is still one of my favourites mainly because of the working suspension Speaking of which my local model shop had a sale on so I bought another one, this being a replica of Winston Churchill’s. For some reason they’d designed it with the screen bolt upright which looked (and was wrong) so I remodelled it in the ‘flies in the teeth’ configuration instead I was unable to resist buying another Corgi Classic because the same shop had this for a frankly miserly 9 quid. As previously mentioned I’ve developed a recent interest in old lorries, especially the largely 2 stroke Fodens, and this S21 looks lovely in the beautiful cream, carmine and black British Railways livery. It came without the plastic model of a Corgi which I didn’t mind but with a bonus sheeted load not shown on the photo on the outside of the box. I’m developing a little themed collection here. AndyW201 Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 This week's arrivals, part 1. First off, a delivery from @bunglebus. Many thanks! Containing my most sought after Hot Wheels and Matchbox so far, that I hadn't been able to source. Most wanted had to be this one. Much has been made of this one already, but suffice to say, it's just superb. Already, a guy on the Professionalmania diecast site on Facebook has done one of these as a John Steed replica, complete with period style New Avengers backing card. Wish I had those skills! Another belter of a new casting. Purple with pink interior, so very '90s... At long last I have one of these. Thanks to Mrs_bus who apparently sourced it! Love the colour scheme on this, and these wheels really suit it. I like the cheeky nod to the JPS logo too! Tried to get one of these from AliExpress when this case first came out. But they all sold out straight away, even when the sellers were putting them up to £7-£8 a pop. Just like with the XR2, it's not the sort of thing I'd expect Matchbox to do, being a fairly common-or-garden not-really-sporty '90s euro hatch. But I love it! Right up my straße. Especially as they have made it look like the povo spec model with the grey lower bumpers and sills (despite it being badged as a ti) FakeConcern, Split_Pin, danthecapriman and 7 others 10
AndyW201 Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Out to the shops this weekend, I nipped into Tesco. As is their way, the Matchbox rummage bin had older stock dating back to the case with the Lexus convertible. But sprinkled on the top were a handful of new ones. A favourite casting of mine, one of the few that I always get the latest recolour of. I've often been tempted to get the Hot Wheels boulevard version, but apart from the Real Riders wheels, I don't think it offers anything much above the Matchbox version. Then I spotted a flash of orange. No... Could it be? Holy shit! I found a Super Chase!!! Okay it's not like finding a Hot Wheels STH, but, slightly bent card aside, I'm still claiming a (small) victory. It's a lovely casting, Never noticed that it was a metallic finish until I looked close, and it's the perfect subject for those wheels. So, looking for a suitable one to make up the 3 for 2 offer, Oh. Still, it'll do as a spare to set free, as I fancy slightly detailing one. I think it'll look good with the rubbing strips and door handles in black. Local Aldi has been slowly catching up on Hot Wheels. For a few weeks they have been doing the case with the Mk1 Corty but I found these yesterday, which I think are from a newer case, I do like an early Firebird. even if this one is a tad over-wheeled... Looks like we should be expecting a '72 Civic in the same colour scheme in the future with this being a Then & Now edition. My favourite colour scheme of this one so far. Swedish racing colours! And once again, after buying one online after no signs of any locally, Just call me Prescott... ambassador84, danthecapriman, warch and 6 others 9

Lord Sterling Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Went to a few 'brocantes' today. The end table had an absolute LOAD of boxed stuff. Unfortunately I didn't have enough cash on me and I didn't feel like asking either Fatha or Bro_Sterling as despite how cheap they were (1/24 Opel Admiral for example was 25 €) Next brocant which we didn't intend to investigate but did anyway. I really wanted the brown Audi 100 but just didn't have time. Unfortunately, I won't be able to come back to these as its a one-off for the hot weekend and probablythe final one of summer, plus next week is when I return to the UK. My haul: 1/43 Skoda and Norev Citroën 10 € for both. 1/18 Veedub bus thing. 15 €. 1/43 Escort 3.50 € ! There were two. I should have bought the other, but didn't have enough free cash. bunglebus, Split_Pin, warch and 9 others 12

bunglebus Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 It's all happening today. Delivery from Ana's Facebook page, most of her latest offerings seemed a bit pricey to me, and I missed out on a Hot Wheels ID Escort for my friend - but I did score this Morris Traveller, something I've never found as a premium offering before Also a Mercury Cougar, because they're fantastic @Spottedlaurel spotted this Matchbox Sierra Cosworth at an agreeable price, it must have been getting a little long in the tooth by its 1993 copyright date though It came with this Majorette Ok... ? Datsuncog Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 I've been eyeing that Corgi kit up for a while, but it seems a tad overpriced for what it is. For a tenner, maybe - but not for £30 plus p&p. The garage in the house I grew up in was very similar (dunno if it was an actual Batley, but it was made up of pre-formed concrete panels bolted together) and even then I can't bring myself to pull the trigger on an order... danthecapriman Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Paint on the Transit minibus is dry-ish, so… This was the colour of my old school minibus. I did a bit of looking online to find out what it was called and if you get it anywhere. It’s called - wait for it! Ford Transit van blue😆 Apparently one of the standard basic colours offered for ages on the Transit for most of its mk2 life. I’m not replicating that old school bus tbh as school is a time id rather not remember much of unfortunately but there were thousands of those vans and minibuses in that colour so that’ll do. Although thinking back, that old Transit was probably one of my few positive memories of school! AndyW201, FakeConcern, Datsuncog and 9 others 12
