I don't think I've ever seen that HiLux!  I certainly don't remember it, which may or may not be a consideration.

So, in my latest box from @FakeConcern there was a BattleKings artic low-loader, which I think was probably some sort of tank transporter.

100_1918.thumb.JPG.ca63fb1e586247f6df1c426629241f6a.JPG

It's actually in really nice condition...

100_1917.thumb.JPG.f3dbf98fc9c6fa3cb0a0039bd66bb499.JPG

So I've paired the trailer with my restored Ford tractor unit.  The BattleKings unit is going into my Gerry Anderson fleet and may well get some form of modification(s).  It's as nice as the trailer though, so maybe it won't need much.

I was talking to one of the chaps at Andy's Man Club about my restorations and he's asked to see some in the flesh, as it were.  So I picked out these...

All the stages!  From the right: the "before" picture, from the latest delivery; the white one I did years ago when I was still doing them by brush; the blue one is from my fictional North Carolina police fleet, representing the current "aerosol" era.

Rummaging in the loft looking for spare cars to go on the sales thread, I found the three different Corgi Marcos Mantis versions. I hasn't appreciated how much it got changed until it was pointed out - even the front post has been moved

Not the easiest to get good photos of with it being that white resin stuff, but it’s a lovely little thing. Very nicely detailed and seems very crisp with minimal flash or pips to take off. Most likely will need a light rub down before paint.
Chassis & interior is pretty good, the chassis will need thinning down slightly as it’s very tight fit into the body. I might see if I can remove the cast wheels and modify it to take some separate wheels/axles though. Maybe.

Dan, I'm on a model group on Facebook and noticed someone who creates 1/43 scale backgrounds with cars also recently got a CMAC Bluebird. Just wondering if you're one in the same person?

Not me. I’m not even on Facebook. Must just be a coincidence.

Although I do plan to build a background/scenic display type thing for these. Eventually.

I bought a black one off here I cannot offhand remember who it was, talking several years ago. The Escort RS Cosworth, I think it only came in the Michelin colours?

This one is supposed to have three of the blue and yellow tractors on board - but of course I recently sold all mine! Being good and trying not to keep everything is tripping me up lately, several times I've got rid of cars and then needed them for something shortly afterwards.

Still, I just don't have room to hold on to every last diecast so I'll just have to be patient until the ones I need come along again

A few recent-ish arrivals

I spotted this Realtoy Mercedes C-Class in a multi listing, these are really hard to find now considering how many they must have sold20250213_175345.thumb.jpg.f32f8bd67764828dbc7146a0cfed37a0.jpg

It will be getting a wheel swap,& off to join the Calibra & Alfa 155s I already have20250213_175325.thumb.jpg.d880df6d74ac1fc55cc8d521371d9d18.jpg

This Maisto Vespa & UT Models Mercedes SLK represent the 2nd,& the most recent vehicles I bought20250119_153307.thumb.jpg.c2dab7c4d3049dfdacf97b8e6f1443da.jpg

They're both the same colours as the real vehicles, the SLK is the pre-facelift car, but is the AMG version so has side skirts like my facelift car.It has the correct wheels too 😀

I didn't really do 1/18 models before,as I didn't have anywhere to display them, but I got hold of an IKEA cabinet recently which is ideal for them20250213_181218.thumb.jpg.718d13fa71a320f498c54cdbb2358218.jpg

I've got 3 more shelves to go in it,so I can get another 9 cars in there. The plan is to get models of real cars I've had,or as close as possible. So far on the list of models I've seen are MG ZR,Fiat Coupe,Granada Coupe,Mini,Volvo C70,BMW E28,Citroen Xantia & Mk1 Escort.Anyone know of any 1/18 Mk3/4/5 Cortinas? @sheffcortinacentre

Some French Dinky reproductions.

First is a pair of Citroens that need unwrapping.

A pair of Panhards of course.

Hello all

Here's a recent purchase, i've always liked this model so was very happy to finally get one.

I picked it up for £19.95 in an Antique centre, i'm hoping that's a good price ? It even has a little opening glovebox !

Dunno if this is an early or later one, i'm assuming early based on reg' no' ?

Opinions & info' welcomed

Cheers

Looks good to me. You could probably bung it on eBay and instantly make a profit on it, boxed Dinky and whatnot.

Ive got a blue version of that. No idea which came first though?
