But that's not all. Inspired by @FakeConcern, and the lovely items adorning his and his wife's summerhouse, I tracked down the Corgi GP buggy set with the sailing boat and trailer

I could see it was good from the pictures, but I wasn't expecting it to be this nice. Only thing missing is the little tie down that secures the sail to the back of the boat

Very nice too!

I think the buggy should have a driver though. Mrs Concern has a couple with all the sailing boat parts, but none have a driver

You're right, never seen one

Another job for a 3D printer

While we're on the subject of 3D printing, here's a few more Fords from CMAC.

Mk4 Cortinas. They're random colours found in Lidl and the saloon ended up looking very much like @Wibble's so I gave it that identity.

Granada estate. Colour is Renault Gris Boreal that Sprayster sent me in error when I ordered red primer and let me keep.

Ford_Granada_C45PPF.thumb.jpg.34eb2614ddf7a99f028ce640c195ed89.jpg

Mondeo hatch. You'll recognise the colour of this one (Cayman Blue) and it's another K-HAR.

And not a Ford, my neighbour's old Volvo that @NorfolkNWeigh bought.

I was going to add a photo of my small display case but for some reason I can’t, despot adding photos without problem on every other thread?

I have a small display case, with some of my favourites but also most of my matchbox, corgis and dinky from my childhood. Including one of these, if it will allow me:

IMG_4991.thumb.jpeg.0badebcdc4ecef9c3a8b161936b8a44c.jpeg

And it does! Sadly mine is stripped back to metal, missing spot lights and rear spoiler but still has the auto shift lever that moves. Had intended to restore it, never happened. Still have all the original cars that came with Dinky Way too. Bloody loved that😁

Is that the big Capri? I bought one at at toy fair, think you'd have to be quite well off to get one of those for Christmas in the 70s

Those are quite the piece.  I have the police one but I've always wanted the blue civvy version. The guy I bought that Beetle off had a mint one for sale but I aren't ask how much.

At the toy fair last weekend one seller had a Dinky France catalogue which I think was 1963, but not sure if it was that one or not. I was very interested in it until I found out it was over £30!

Another seller had a few French Dinky toys too, most mint and some with the box, but again too expensive for me to justify. I bought a couple of Norevs from him.

Slim pickings today in charity shop land.

Two Samurais; the silver cast is a new one on me but does have a cast Suzuki badge.

That "De Soto" American police car... isn't.  It's a Dodge.  Easy mistake to make though, as Dinky offered, DeSoto, Dodge and Plymouth, which in real life were all the same car with detail differences.

Weren’t most of the De Soto’s Canadian?

I have seen them as both a navy blue RCMP unit, and a black Police issue.  Likewise the 1961 Ford Fairlane.  I don't remember seeing the Dodge or Plymouth as RCMP but I could easily be mistaken.

I got this in the post this morning.

IMG_3180.thumb.jpeg.d1939c203d174e4d46924c414a58bbfe.jpeg

It’s a Greenlight Ford 5610 (weathered) in 1/64 scale. Unlike Hotwheels Greenlight tend to aim for consistent scale, scale proportions and realistic wheels and slightly posher paint applications. They’re also 7 or 8 quid, but I love this especially the rust paint effect.

Cabless or open station tractors were and are quite rare in the UK once cabs became mandatory in the 1970s. Things like combine harvesters which, by necessity are only ever used when the weather is dry were often open station, so weather was the main mitigating factor in having a cab which were originally noisy, then less noisy but stuffy especially in hot weather. This sort of configuration was much more popular in America.

The original manufacturing plant for these was at Basildon in Essex which I think along with Cheadle (JCB) is one of only two tractor factories left in Britain.

I found a patina'd Auto World in that job lot. I like Gulf liveries, and I enjoy doing patinad finish customs, but this didn't appeal. Gave it to my mate

I've been itching for this one to arrive. Funny enough on one of my Facebook groups someone asked for Twinmill pics today, so I'm going to drop one image with no explanation whatsoever, and see what happens

Dinky 258 was a Desoto, maybe the picture in the catalogue is a bit iffy.

My wife isn't well this evening so I didn't buy coffees while we wait for my son at his basketball training. So I got this instead. It's almost identical to one that's languishing in a driveway across from my house.

HW have built up a really good range of 90s Japanese cars over the years and this type is a new one on me.
