I found another box of stuff today I’d forgotten about in the shed, so there’ll be another round of sales on my thread tonight…

There’s not masses of it but some stuff I could do with shifting on! Similar sort of stuff as usual - old Corgi, Matchbox etc.

To add, first batch will be up at about 19:00 tonight. 
Then I’m going to be slimming my collection of older ones over the coming days and adding more each evening.

It's been an interesting diecast day. This rather large New Bright arrived in the post

As did this Rio Beetle, a replica of the millionth produced 

Unfortunately it had a mishap on the way, so it's undergoing a bit of super glue surgery at the moment 

Spotted this Matchbox BMW CSL in a charity shop bag, and it's the later type with reinforced door hinges, so goes nicely with the early type I found on Sunday

Found this Silverado in Smyths - paint scheme is the reverse of that used on a C10 years ago, I love these little easter eggs/nods to the past by Mattel 

That's not the only one today either, as I found a load of new Matchbox in Poundland...

I'm sure most of us recognise the paint scheme on the Field Car

As it first appeared on the venerable Mini Pick-Up

Think I'll be undoing that for a proper comparison

Some nice stuff there @bunglebus! That Jeep Wagoneer is a beauty though. I’m a bit of a sucker for all that series of Jeep! 
Im not supposed to be adding to my collection though, only reducing it so I’ll pretend I didn’t see it.

Has anyone got any recommendations for a dremel type polishing set? What kind of progressive polishing heads do people use to clean up diecast metal to the point it's gleaming?

I just use the felt bits in the Dremel type multi piece kits, they come with a red polish usually.

My process for bases is brass brush, green scourer, then red polish followed by T cut on those felt pads - sometimes I use both together as the red polish is a bit hard. Be warned, it goes everywhere! Best done outside wearing old clothes.

Bodies I work through various stages of wet and dry before moving to the polishing

After Herbie the 1,000,000th Beetle must be the most modelled VW in the world.

I like the Minichamps version as it replicates the sparkly bumpers and trim of the actual museum car.

Can’t remember if I’ve posted this project yet.

Some time back I got a few damaged Vanguard’s cars in a little lot, one of which was this Rover P4. Pretty sure it’s a very early release of it.

It was pretty well worn, and knocked about with various bits missing or broken. My plan was to repair it then do a custom paint job on it. But annoyingly Corgi don’t seem to offer any spares. These old models can be picked up for £not much anyway, so it didn’t really make sense to try repairing this one. 
But, since it’s here it might as well become ‘something’ right!?

So,

Its now a banger, to be loaded up on a Cararama trailer I’ve got somewhere and hauled along by one of my Transits!

Theres a basic representation of a banger interior with seat, fuel cell and battery on the floor. Front & rear bulkheads and boxed in rear wheel arches since they’re all now visible without the original interior fitted. 
I’ve drilled out all the lights too so they’re just holes now. Some more appropriate wheels came from a Corgi Transit van.

No door plates or other armouring as I wanted it to look like bangers did back in the 70’s & 80’s in their more simple form compared to the tanks they build today!

It’s on the top shelf of a wardrobe. I’ve even thrown clothes out to fit it in. I’m one sad sad man 😂😂
