Managed to find the Fiat transporter set too,I like the truck because even if it unlicensed,it still looks like a Fiat truck,a bit like the one in The Italian Job.

In case anyone is interested, that set that Smoll Eddy is modelling is available in Poundland, there are a few different sets, even thought they are basically the same, just with different decals.

Nice colour for it. I already have the blue one with a decal, and then picked up a different variant this morning:

IMG_0936.JPG.c813227e0d6edcc4111cf0ee8d235515.JPG

Was pleased to get the Siku R5.

Cherokee had chien and tailgate:

There was a nice Majorette Sierra on another stall, but a bit steep at £8 (still got the Ipswich toy fair to come tomorrow).

On the subject of Sierras:

All the above came from a 1:1 autojumble. There were probably a few other things I should have bought, but I'd already spent quite a bit on magazines and 1/24 built Tamiya kits for spares/repair:

I'm sure one of you gents posted up several years ago that the Galant/Challenger was based on a Tomica Casting? Anyone able to compare?

Also, I wonder if there was an alternate wierd kid like me in the US, who fawned over such UK domestic chod as a 'Cortina 1600 GL' in the same was as I did over a Majorette  Oldsmobile Omega? Neither were ever for sale in theUS/ UK respectively although at least the Cortina was successful over here.

Anyway, cheers for scanning @bunglebus

Think they did sell the MK4 cortina in us seen a few over there in various conditions.

I've not got any of the Hong Kong Matchboxes but have seen a few up for grabs on https://www.trademe.co.nz/ . If anyone takes a fancy to anything on there, I'm happy to offer a free brokering service.

But be warned that my quick trigger finger in UK tat sales of past have reflected the often inflated local prices...

I realised today's Jeep find means I have both black base Sleet-N-Snow

Matchbox Superfast II Sleet-N-Snow

and white base US Mail truck versions

Matchbox Superfast 5 U.S. Mail Truck

Both appear identical up top at first glance, but have different rear seats

Matchbox Superfast II Sleet-N-Snow Matchbox Superfast 5 U.S. Mail Truck

I do have the trailer to go with, actually I've had several but even I didn't keep any spares just in case! Wheels are different to the Jeeps so was either actually paired with it?

Matchbox Glider Transporter

I did find an article about the Matchbox Jeeps too, prepare to be confused trying to follow all the changes and variations...

Dagenham exported Mk1 and Mk2 Cortinas but stopped there due to poor sales.  Mk3 or Mk4 were not exported, nor was Taunus TC or TC2. So where did they come from?  Could they have been Argentine Taunus TC3, but that would have been Cortina 80 style?

There were a few special importers that would bring in European Fords in the 70’s. Cortina mk4’s were occasionally imported as were mk1 Transits!
There’s a guy on YouTube with a mk1 Transit, complete with York diesel still that was imported new in a small batch for a roofing company!
Obviously in the US they had a multitude of F series tucks and E series vans so the Transit was never imported in the usual way for sale through dealers. Likewise the Cortina (and Escort??) had many domestic equivalents so it was pointless really trying to sell them in the US.

Not a lot to write home about today but I shifted a load of junk out of the loft and came home with £200 to spend on some more!

Just got rid of most of my buses, so of course I bought another

A quick search found this, but I'm sure there's more than one series like it20240512_142406.jpg.8c7af266baef7f579ed3fa1f7ea12b38.jpg

Darda cars are another thing I don't really collect, but I do tend to pick them up if I see them.I'll dig my others out sometime.I nearly didn't buy the E30 as everything in the box it came from was £1.00,but I thought it was worth it.The motor even works 😀

Cool. Kidco is the obvious answer but Mira, Impulse, Lido and probably others did spring loaded cars. Anything on the base?
