I can see the NOT REALLY KING SIZE BUT WORTH ADDING TO THE COLLECTION, Matchbox Guy Warrior Car Transporter in there that, being the yellow one, would complement the @FakeConcern Daf Transporter nicely

I wonder how much it is

Would be interested in the Vanguards Morry Oxford if it'll make up a 3 for £20 combo, if Eddy's after the Crestas?

Well now, I did swipe another Vanguards for myself to make up a triptych - the 109E Capri - but if you're keen on the Oxford for £7, happy to head back over!

Not sure - I'd guess around a fiver, though it looks like it's led a hard old life in the sandpit.

Indeed - sadly without its tank, and with the bonnet release mechanism borked so it's permanently resting in the 'up' position:

I'm tempted, for sure...

Still has tailflap and door tops though so worth it I reckon

How much for the broken Stobart transporter next to the big Mack? Looks like useful conversion fodder.

Posted

If the Corgi Hopper Berliet is £2-3 I'd be keen, I already have one from @155V6 but missing the exhaust and I also have a spare trailer  so another tractor unit would be good.

The Stobart contraption was by Oxford Diecast at 1:76

It looked like this so no wonder it fell to bits

So then - not a bad selection of older stuff in the box, as it happened.

Once turfed out and mildly sorted, it looked a bit like this:

IMG_20230922_0812012.thumb.jpg.4fca97b54cafe0a2164e84b04c4da006.jpg

(Ignore all the axes and baseball bats - all I'll assume is that someone's marking the recent passage of the Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Bill and the apparent amnesty offered by having a bit of a clear-out from under the bed...)

IMG_20230922_0752282.thumb.jpg.23459f07ded410b641f9c13a7827b77d.jpg

Corgi Merc is, as usual, missing its A-pillars.

Budgie Leyland Octopus coal truck in quite clean original nick; Dinky Commer Tow Truck and Corgi Standard Vanguard III are both older repaints.

Speed Kings Nissan concept car has the usual glazing damage, while the Lone Star Tuf-Tots Ford H-Series tipper is quite a jolly little thing.

Lesney Case Bulldozer missing its tracks and cab, but otherwise ok.

IMG_20230922_0757132.thumb.jpg.c6a911e6e6e03ffa971d4379be374fe1.jpg

Vanguard is a mechanised version, too:

IMG_20230922_0757192.thumb.jpg.ec94499ff8d269728578e9a010027133.jpg

Land Rover is a Britains example that's been repainted and generally messed about with, involving Airfix decals, glue and bits of plastic.

IMG_20230922_0752352.thumb.jpg.da74880f9d9be49aea036d0498c8eb82.jpg

Some tinplates in amongst the diecast, too.

IMG_20230922_0752472.thumb.jpg.155d5cf406dfab6d26b83d3531f301bc.jpg

Both the large and small variants of the Mercury Cougar dragster have lost their power plants.

The Corgi Thunderbird hardtop's had a rough time of it.

IMG_20230922_0757412.thumb.jpg.d1e1911c9c955bde0a9455a51407f834.jpg

Dinky Range Rover looks similarly down-at-heel, with mismatched wheels but is at least more or less complete:

IMG_20230922_0757482.thumb.jpg.bfae79b90475bfa150ecb29209fae343.jpg

Dinky Ferrari 518B F1 racer alongside is unfamiliar to me:

IMG_20230922_0936032.thumb.jpg.7d0f28b21a365b73ec9f0a49fb5c2b89.jpg

Probably more because I don't pay attention to stuff rather than actual rarity, though.

Super Kings Ford D-Series behind has okay paint, but very shonky axles.

IMG_20230922_0752542.thumb.jpg.a3b6ab562f20b1f54e1809c2797aa6bc.jpg

Early Dinky dropside lorry looked original enough.

IMG_20230922_1322302.thumb.jpg.58e3a9208a0f26b8f404ad00e3ae65da.jpg

Did this Matchbox boat and trailer originally come with the Miura, or was that a different one?

IMG_20230922_0753112.thumb.jpg.94e5fc1492a66ba5e50e4c5daf345c5c.jpg

Corgi Major Bedford TK Chipperfields animal truck was missing a few bits, but not irredeemably trashed.

IMG_20230922_0757592.thumb.jpg.3362ee4769543223bb06fc215b1f36bd.jpg

Shock: a Gruesome Twosome that's actually still a twosome.

IMG_20230922_0758242.thumb.jpg.f0b24fff5633490e6918f6f21291c183.jpg

IMG_20230922_0724402.thumb.jpg.1a6ff7a8e5d3546906c06aff53a8db89.jpg

An earlier than usual start accounts for some of the crepuscular nature of the drive in, but it's not quite as nice as a few weeks ago.

My Nemesis was playing the stall helper role today, setting out the same Vanguards from last week.

IMG_20230922_0730262.thumb.jpg.e32d59ed3031c4b3c4b63778442f941b.jpg

All the Granadas had now left the building, but - any interest from @eddyramrod in this pair from GM's transatlantic exuberance phase?

IMG_20230922_0730542.thumb.jpg.46f46179b707c68d2586343c15b06b22.jpg

Still priced at £7 each or three for £20, so I thought it prudent to consider the Mini Cooper that @flat4alfa was after last week. To keep things neat, like.

IMG_20230922_0731132.thumb.jpg.f69b2f1c062086273ceb5a4f67c9ad1a.jpg

And thought it even more prudent to look inside, as...

IMG_20230922_0731222.thumb.jpg.52c029d6a8ce10b2a2d9fdba91cfe83f.jpg

Errrr...

IMG_20230922_0731522.thumb.jpg.28b9f4fa51ac34c8d627499c34b7c026.jpg

Yeah, that's no Vanguards.

IMG_20230922_0732002.thumb.jpg.8636d541abb37fa9595d31fbbb46aaa9.jpg

I recognise this from previous discussions on here - it is a Zylmex?

Oh well. Glad I looked before committing, anyway!

And that looked to be about it, sadly - other than a big Marx tinplate train:

IMG_20230922_0733402.thumb.jpg.c7b1f535b9bce7a5e74b716e542f768c.jpg

Until suddenly I became aware that Nemesis was hoking at another box...

IMG_20230922_0738152.thumb.jpg.bb39151e2214689e3362d49cb13d97e4.jpg

Tat ahoy!

If @AndyW201 wants the Oxford that'll make up a nice trio, thanks Tim :)  I was also looking at the Victor F-Type but then we're up to four, which might mean having to buy more....

I would also be interested in the Dinky police Range Rover if it's no more than a couple of quid.

And the green Matchbox Mercury station wagon if it'll be a similar price please!

If you're heading back anyway, yes please Tim, but don't make another journey just for that, it can wait till next week.

(Was dithering over that Capri myself too...🤣)

It's not nice to admit, but a lot of stuff is just better here. Housing, roads, general upkeep of everything, standards of driving and public transport etc.

Prices aren't exactly bargainous,  with odd exceptions like beer being cheaper than soft drinks generally.

There are some things missing, no charity shops to speak of but also no weed smoke or shitty Fiestas with pop-bang remaps either.

Do they still drink pints of half beer / half coca cola? Woolworths in Germany sold them in cans!

The other side is the good side.

In relative terms, anyway...

£10 on the bigger articulated stuff today, I'm afraid!

Top mount of the exhaust stack (where it hooks into the glazing unit) is missing, plus the headlights are gone...

Indeed, they're very fragile and intricate things and rather pricey. The cab would be useful for other things so if @Datsuncog could grab it for a tenner or so I'd be very happy.

That's a shocking speed to be dragging a top-heavy boat trailer!  The Sheriff will have him in cuffs before the day is out.  That is if he doesn't fish-tail up the bank first

What colour base is on the pink Dodge dragster?

Purplish base on that one - it also had the inevitable broken grille, but otherwise not too bad in terms of paint/ stickers.
