I'm loving this thread, it's going to take me a while to get through it though!

My son has loads of model cars, but so many are just boxed up in storage now. We should really start moving some on.

Once I'm a full member I might do a for sale thread on them.

Lately we have been playing with this beauty, a Pinecone RC car from China - it's dangerously fast and wasn't too expensive, plus you can buy spares for when you inevitably break it!

1/16 scale though, so nothing fits from other RC cars.

Back on the subject of the gaps that Vanguards have left, the Silas range of models as mentioned earlier in the thread are very good, if a little pricey. Built in very small numbers, but in various colours, they are difficult to find once sold out.

Viva HA - Rapier -  Maxi.

I'll have to dig out the my Airfix equivalents and compare!

In the meantime, a catalogue scan

Eddy built a static Airfix Vauxhall Viva from a kit, 50 years ago. Today it lives on - but now with a motor inside it.

Quick and clumsy film effort from three years ago...

There is another type, when he lost the tongue but gained a few pounds

Arkwright card looks good order both sides?

Is it purchaseable?

I was in a different part of town today, dropped my dad off at the royal Stoke hospital and went to halfrauds to get a rear wiper blade for the Audi. I decided to call in BnM next door, who have not been good in the past. Walking down the huge row of toys I found some hotwheels on the shelf, just placed there. Nothing worth having. Then about 5 metres down the aisle was more hotwheels, but a whole box full placed on the shelf very neatly. My luck was in! Escort on the FRONT, untouched! Mine. I hunted through the neat and tidy rows but alas, no red Sierra. The hunt continues. Got the civic too, and the Camero for my son. He loves his hotwheels!

I honestly don't even know if I still have it - that's the only pic I could find, from 2020

I also built a Triumph Herald using a Mighty Metro chassis.  I still have that!

Yep. No idea on the manufacturer, just says made in china. I think the caravan used to have sticker stripes on the sides.

It's by Kees. I have one without the caravan.

I think its an upscale copy of the Corgi 1/43 item and the castings are very similar side by side.

You could also get a Mercedes instead.

And this, Scania tanker. You could get them from Esso garages. Every time you filled up with petrol you got tokens which you could redeem on various things… I got this!

I even kept one of the tokens with it.

See my old man always used BP so we had the Corgis you got with the BP stamps. Didn’t they later do the Shell Maisto models, our neighbour used to get loads as he had a scaffolding firm so used to brim the wagon every week so quickly got the set.

This is the latest addition to my collection - Vanguards Rover P6 from their Hidden Treasures selection. I think it might be my most favourite model yet!

Why’s the number plate four foot long and the massive scoop under the grill looks like it’s been done too big.

My 2nd ever job was working nights at the newly opened Gledrid Shell station on the Oswestry bypass. Anyone who didn't want their stickers we kept on our own cards so naturally I got the whole 1st set including the big Xj220.

Unfortunately my scumbag brother sold most of it behind my back for booze money..
