Impy Fiat 2300s. I don’t have many of these. Are they rare?

Not seriously rare but fairly sought after - however in that condition probably not worth a mint (pun unintentional)

Unusual find, but not rare. You’d find a good few in this very thread.  Headlamp jewel is missing, not worth more a than a few quid really.  If you put it on eBay for a fiver it would sit unsold for weeks

Why not strip it and repaint it yourself?

I was there bang on 10:15 for about an hour as young ‘un was chomping at the bit for a McDonald’s. 🤣

Shirley that's child abuse/cruelty making him eat that!

Managed to swap doors across on Cortina, colours mismatch. Life imitating art etc.

This is much like the one I had as a lad, bought it for peanuts and it went everywhere with me. Christ knows where it went.

As a result of this post, I've bought one on eBay as an early birthday present to myself (it's to arrive the day before!). :lol:

Only realised the other day I have never had one of those Cortina MkII.  Is one going spare?

In the meantime, here is some Lone Star Fiat in mint, that is not quite mint, but still a bit mintifiable

So if you don’t want the rough one, I’ll take it on to build an ‘Impy-Flyer’.  Which would mean having working steering, a full set of opening things, headlamp jewels - but with Flyer wheel upgrade and a Flyer metallic paint job reproduction (with added stripes)

A separate series with different liveries20230106_233413.thumb.jpg.0cff775f5fbfc763132ea6cd0e2d1721.jpg

Learn something new everyday!
I’ve already got the bronze Corvette in the pic and that’s got these laser wheels, I never knew it was a separate series. Just thought it was something for that particular car.

Updated list from Corgi Model Club

These things aren't cheap but they're so nice, it's hard to know what to do. So far I've just let my subscription run and had every car, but some appeal to me more than others. It's not causing me a problem financially but that money could also pay for original die casts that interest me instead.

Those are great. I like that the restored ine has the correct NI numberplate. I hope to get more Minis from that era this year. I have owned and sold a few, some of which I should probably have kept!

I had a couple of deliveries today. This one is a bit of an oddball...

20230107_125857.thumb.jpg.c1b5d14f646279bae8bb4ef52eb0d456.jpg20230107_125906.thumb.jpg.81d81b72f74095497e657d9ff4ad8500.jpg

But there is a problem

20230107_130023.thumb.jpg.7d0437bbfd003d690f90fc37323fd230.jpg20230107_130101.thumb.jpg.d34711e898bbfc872d025ca378996acf.jpg

I knew about the missing tailgate, maybe I recreate something, probably more chance of that than finding another one - however a thread I found on Planet Diecast suggests it's a Dinky copy by Summer, so I may try and cannibalise one of those.

It came with some other pull-back motored vehicles

The next three arrived together although from two different sellers, which is quite a pleasing coincidence;

Now I'm sure I've mentioned enough times my interest in the Impulse copies of the Sand Digger - but a few days ago I discovered not only what the range was, and its name;

I also found one for sale, with what appears to be a copy of the Mini Pick-up inside

I'd still like to find the van to go with the Sand Digger though

Can you guess which one is restored (not by me)?

I had a few Spot On models and liked them, but never even knew they made a Mini, let alone  a van! Lovely...

Edit; @MiniMinorMk3 I have found where I posted my Minis

About half way down the page and again near the bottom....

I jumped over the Lotus F1, the Bentley and the Thunderbird.  Then cancelled at the Aston Martin, mainly because of finances but also because I was duplicating what I already have as originals.  I told myself it would be better to just restore/tidy what I have!  This was only when they decided to sell individually and outside of the exclusive subscription plan though.  Subscription business models that are solely mail-order worry me.  To be fair, I feared the business would collapse at the Aston Martin release which was shortly after the negative experiences appeared - see Trustpilot 'Ice Cream Van Scam' for example.  I also learned the fella behind the firm was Atlas Editions UK who went into liquidation leaving many subscribers out of pocket.

I do pop onto the Facebook page and the main website now and again though to take a look.  Some of the choices I don't quite understand.  Not just from a personal favourite viewpoint, but why they would choose less-profitable issues?  Example: why the Oldsmobile Sheriff and HQ Staff Car when the main market of interest for those would be the USA?  It's a UK-only subscription series and they are also not able to ship individual sales outside of the UK.

However, it's great that a British business has continued to be successful.

I have two incomplete Corgi Astro and want to make a good one out of them.  Does anyone have the seats spare?  Not worried about the pair of figures.

The intention is to paint as the actual car from 1967.  The car lives on today as part of the GM Heritage Collection
