Shite in Miniature II

Been up in the loft today putting all the Xmas crap away, found this.

Box 1 of 2 of my toy cars from when I was little. I’ve not looked at these since about 2004 when we moved here. I can’t remember much of what’s there tbh! I think most is 70’s and 80’s stuff as I wasn’t old enough to have the old Dinky and Corgi toys era stuff I posted up earlier. I’ll have a sort through tomorrow while it’s raining out. I might have to thin this out too. Box 2 is buried under loads of other stuff at the moment (including a set of mk2 Capri seats!!)

The Fiat was a rally car in the Olio Fiat livery of dark blue and yellow.

I never liked that livery which is why I painted the yellow in black. I'm now toying with changing it to either red..

The number plate on the Jensen was used many times. I bought the Ford Transit kit back in the day and it came with the same number.

A mate had the same number on the single decker bus with the bell function.

Dinky had little imagination with number plates, but they did update the year letter

I’ve got that Jensen, although it’s in nowhere near as good condition! Did it only come in yellow?

It only came in yellow, but as it also came in kit form there will be other colours out there

Just going through the big box of cars, found a couple of things I can’t identify if any of you guys know? (I bet someone will!)

Firstly, this pair of rubberish soft plastic pickup and Beetle. I’ve had them a long time but no idea who made them etc.

And secondly, this old beast!

Its very old, mostly plastic and has a metal ‘motor’ style unit in the cab to make an engine sound as it moves along. Absolutely no idea what it is or who made it.

Today's postal arrivals.

1st up, fat-wheel version of the MKIV Zodiac. Let me just say if there's one child's plaything I'd love to go back in time and eradicate, it's plasticine. This had loads of it stuffed in the engine bay and wheel wells, must have taken me an hour with petroleum jelly, a hairdryer and various implements to get most of it out. Only silver lining to the cloud was that it had kept the spare wheel in place

Can't help with ID on any of them but that's an interesting pair - the pickup is an early Unimog. Beetle with sideskirts is also very cool, put my name down for those if you part with them!

Here’s a load more…

Anyone interested in or know about Micro Machines? I know one of the ones here is rare - the pink & blue Isuzu pickup.

Im almost positive I’ve got more of these somewhere.
There’s a load of the monster truck ones too.

I was never into those but I do like the similarly sized Hot Wheels - they seem much harder to find, and no doubt get mixed up with Micro Machines anyway.

Cars & trucks. Mostly Matchbox/Lesney and Corgi, but there’s a few others too.

’That’ big truck (Skoda?), Lone Star artic tipper & a pair of Superkings artics. No idea who made the black pickup or the tractor.

Black pickup looks familiar, posibly Impulse but I'd need to see a better picture.

No-name 57 Chevy Nomad is possibly Zymex, along with the T-birds - should have a code like D83 on the base if so. Think the STP one is Summer:

The Nomad looks very similar to their Sedan effort

Summer 1957 Chevrolet

Black Superkings Cosworth is quite sought-after

You have a few Superfasts that are less common, military spec Mercs for a start

No idea on the others, pickup is an interesting one. Don't think I have that Matchbox Merc 300SE saloon in army green

Never heard of Saviem? I’ll have a look on eBay in a bit see if there’s anything similar.
It’s well used, the rear axle has worn its way into the chassis and lowered its rear end a bit! Lovely looking truck though.

I’m waiting on a couple of job lots I recently scored on eBay to arrive. Once they do and I’ve sorted through them I’ll make a diecast ‘for sale’ thread and put everything I’m willing to part with on it. I know for a fact there’s a few duplicates of things you’ve already seen on my recent posts here.

If there’s anything in particular you’ve seen here let me know and I’ll see…
