I probably should mention at this point that I did get the big box of diecast from @Dick Longbridge after winning the roffle and was intending to show them off, but I've been feeling like I've been hit by a full size (not miniature) bus. So yeah, when I'm better I'll get some photos taken and posted. :)

Found some fake Hot Wheels! If they'd had singles I'd have bought one, but I'm not laying out £17 on Chinese tat just for japes

I'm sure Mattel's IP lawyers would be very interested in that... I found some 5-packs in The Range a year or two ago which had packaging very similar to Hot Wheels, but didn't actually rip off the name (also some other packs 'inspired' by Majorette too).

£17 is rather a lot to ask for a 10-pack, even if it were genuine! Where are such bargains* to be found? Price gun label suggests an independent trader...

I wasn’t aware that fakes existed!

£17 for that, what a load of tosh.

How do they get away with making these fakes?

The funniest one I saw was a copy of the Lego 'Builders' London Bus set named Lepin 'BUILERDS'.

Yeah tat shop in Basildon-on-sea AKA Great Yarmouth

Knowing independent seaside tat shops, I'd say there's a very real chance that the proprietor doesn't even realise they're not the real deal.

Found a 2p machine in the arcades full of Matchbox. Think I was annoying the bloke calling him over every time one got stuck coming out

[FECKIN' FU' AE PHOTIES]

I finally got around to unboxing my roffle winnings since I'm off work today...

We'll start with the bigger stuff. This is all the Matchbox stuff that came out of the box.

Lesney/Matchbox Selection

Then the Corgi selection...

Corgi Stuff

And the... uhhhh... everything else... I must confess that I do like Darth Mater. The 'FIRE Rescue' was DOA, but I've rebuilt the little red fucker.

Assorted Selection

There was also this little Popeye boat, which made me laugh far too much for far too long...

Popeye Boat

This Corgi Jeep is a wonderful thing, too.

Corgi Jeep

This Maltese Bus also appealed to me, massively. Not because I used to have one, but because I'm of Maltese descent, too. Also featuring in this image is my Mum's personalised glass. I probably should find somewhere better for taking photos that isn't a couple of work surfaces in the kitchen.

Malta Bus

I really dig this Norev Renner van. It's rather cool. :)

Norev Renner Van

The following are definitely my favourites from this selection...

I've always wanted a Sierra diecast of some sort. This hits the spot.

Big Sierra

The doors open too, to show a rather cool interior.

Big Sierra interior

Now, for some peak AutoShite content... a fucking Matra Rancho!

Matra Rancho

A pink-ish Lotus Europa...

Pink-ish Lotus Europa

nice-good.gif

A set of smoll Minis. Sweet.

Smol Minis

Now time to move over to the French shite... starting with this little yella 2CV6 with opening doors. Snazzy as 'eck, this is.

Little Yella 2CV6

And finally, the main reason I spent some dosh that I didn't have at the time on the roffle... a delightfully one-eyed and battered BX Break.

Battered BX - 2

Battered BX

Anyways, that's all. I'm very happy though. Once again, thanks to @Dick Longbridge for sending these over after I won the roffle. :)

I'm not sure who I got it off if it wasn't you - it was maybe four or so years back, and I don't think it was all that expensive (I wouldn't have bought it otherwise!) It's a very nice model, but I've never really bonded with it - maybe if it was a boggo 1.6 Envoy I'd feel a bit different?

Box is a wee bit tatty in places, but what would you say to £15 all-in for the Cavalier and Kadett, including post?

(And never fear, I'll give it a dust beforehand - looks way worse in the pics than it does in front of me.)

I've also got the Opel equivalent of this, but missing a mirror. Bought it for £22 in a shop in Windsor, maybe about 2014/15?

The Russian partwork UAZ models aren't too bad a £2.49 a throw... still 150% more than their 2012 Poundland heyday, though!

Yep H case. Funny, that one is really in demand but I've found loads of them, yet the MX-5 from last year and the J case Gotta Go seem to be elusive.

Saw absolutely loads of the lilac Skull Shaker treasure hunts around too for months after they came out.

That yellow Mini is really cool, just a shame the body no longer comes off

Nah I think he took pity on me and put them right on the edge. Had loads of 2ps gathered up from various jars and money boxes that haven't been emptied out for years anyway.

I did work out last night they were costing about £1.60 on average

Ah, good to know - didn't think I'd seen this Cherokee before in their line-up, but I haven't been all that dedicated recently.

I used to have the old Matchbox casting of the 3dr Cherokee in yellow and green Park Ranger colours, plus the Majorette version in black with orange surfboards on the roof. But I think I passed both of them on a while back.

This one reminded me of the one used in the Matt's Off-Road Recovery videos on YouTube, so I didn't want to pass it up...

I'd forgotten about trying to find the Sierra so that was pleasing. Still no Kadetts though.....

And in bigger scale:
