I'm almost there on the Hiace kit, just mirrors to attach then some outdoor photos as it's a decent day.

In the meantime, charity shop purchases yesterday:

Countach is tidy, was only 75p. The other two came from a different shop, they had a few other boxed vehicles with dairy-related logos, including a boxed Escort van in the Eden Vale livery. Looked slightly DIY though. Now I have this Transit my unboxed example is surplus to requirements, if anyone is interested?

They also had an unboxed Britains Iveco tanker for £10, which seems to be quite good value. Might go back again next weekend, especially as I discovered the shop in town that sells secondhand baby/kids' stuf has a few old diecasts at reasonable prices.

Celica and Accord came from @bunglebus, remainder found at Sainsbury's. As I already have a black one the Altezza has gone to Miss SL's BF, part-exchanged for something else that he found in a charity shop:

Excellent AS content here, even a CF for @eddyramrod! Would be happy to go a boot sale and find this one:

The artwork on that puzzle is brilliant. You could frame it and put it on the wall!

A few weeks ago I picked up one of these 1:43 Pinder Circus collection farmer spec Range Rover 3 door’s. There seems to be a lot of these about selling cheaply. This one cost me a fiver.

IMG_3348.thumb.jpeg.6f2eabad833863e1f5f7518bad8b5c9c.jpeg

Naturally I can’t leave things alone and I’ve got precisely 0 interest in circuses, let alone French ones! So it’s going to get stripped and a standard Rangey 3 door made from it.
Only slight concern was the rear windows. I’ve opened it up though and the clear glazing is all there, just with a sticker/transfer over it. Should be able to get that off and have the clear windows.

IMG_3440.thumb.jpeg.5e4b0940382185bb13c3e37bcb85248b.jpeg

Its actually a nice little model if you look past all the circus crap stuck to it!

Got this bad boy too!
Another 1:43 from the Mexico collection. Dodge Ram Charger. This is another of the harder to find ones.

Ah yes, saves me digging around trying to find what version I already had - that's the one. Was it offered officially in several liveries, or have I got a rebranded one?

Anyone interested? With a bit of chassis stretch I bet @danthecapriman could make a great recovery truck out of it!

@FakeConcernthe Land Rover looks great😎.I bought a couple more, the first one looked like it would clean up ok20240128_142046.thumb.jpg.19637e8f6c4ff50c6a6d644c876ed9be.jpg

The plastic is discoloured though,so I took the back off & used it to pull the trailer I got from @bunglebus20240128_142222.thumb.jpg.df2c2a4c568c8b929764e1cc82d14026.jpg

The second one was very tidy, but had no stickers or figures. The first one had the clown figure though,so I fitted that & used a 1/48 tin helmet to replace the missing hat.I didn't realise that there is supposed to be a bit of the clown's hand visible so it looks a bit odd20240128_142255.thumb.jpg.f9e4dfc37f23062f68427bf9db261d0e.jpg

So I went to a model railway exhibition today, and amongst the smell of BO and general social awkwardness, I stumbled on a few bargains, how does a £1 each for the following sound 😳

Range Rover has the usual Dinky build* quality but bar a cracked screen and a missing lamp is complete. Imp has had the tyres nicked, and is well play worn but hey a quid!

Norev 205 is a sweet little thing, even if it needs a bath and the wheels are little awkward .

IMG_4447.thumb.jpeg.481278f30265f14565157006eb43dfe5.jpeg

Cortina mark 2 is play worn lovely!

Hiace finished:

Seems that I started it back in May 2021. It sat for too long before I got back onto it over the Christmas holiday.

IMG_9367.thumb.JPG.db6e30ebe8711081ec35788c81c0be8a.JPG

Had fun with the various extras that came with it, plus Fujimi accessory parts and dinghy from an AMT Hilux.

Makes for a nice companion piece to the Sunny Truck:

Interior, before it got assembled:

Not hugely detailed, and I certainly wouldn't class it amongst my better efforts, but it's got a bit a bit of character and definitely looks like a Hiace.

Got to say when I was a kid it really bothered me that Matchbox had made the Transit with one of the tailboard's down. In fact it's still irrationally bothering me !

I've just had a proper look at this and I still have no idea what you are planning to do with the Corgi Kew Fargo and Carrimore transporter. Also is that the P6 that had no screen pillars?

All looking great!

That first one went very grey didn't it, even the underwater one came up better than that!

That was a great idea to use the helmet for the clowns hat, wish I'd thought of that!

I have made the hat though, I used a bit of plastic cocktail stick for the missing bit of hand/arm, then the rim of the hat is plasticard with a piece of sprue stuck on it filed and filled.

420783883_1069364934185199_8703382476678496924_n.thumb.jpg.6cef44cdbfd4f5b653b5eb81aa21023f.jpg

I printed the stickers, stuck cellotape over and cut out, will do for now. I've just realised the clown has to go through the hole from the bottom and his arms will have to bend quite a lot to do it, not looking forward to that at all!

Despite the build quality, that's the first Dinky Range Rover I've seen where the lower tailgate doesn't drop open all the time!

I love that 205, I'm really starting to like Norev a lot.

Hiace finished:

Seems that I started it back in May 2021. It sat for too long before I got back onto it over the Christmas holiday.

That Hiace is lovely and the interior plus all the equipment really make it appealing, obviously it would be all for nothing if your build was anything short of superb!

A bit of thread drift, but years ago my uncle had a Hiace and my dad persuaded him it was pronounced HI AR CHI.

It would be even funnier if I knew how it is pronounced!
