Elan +2 in Brixton? Is it yellow covered with a bit of tree detritus? If it is, I'd lay my money on it being one of the two that are usually parked up on Croxted Road.

Is the other one white? I've spotted one around that area.

Been absent for quite a while but to make up for this I have been seeing some shite!

Pimlico and the Ibiza that keeps going on and on and on

Zoinks! That Bristol is fab, Aprilia might be my favourite car ever (for the next 5 minutes), the unknown could be a Lagonda 2.6? GR8 UPD8.

Posted

MUTHA FLIPPA, some top-grade spots there. I dont know which to get most exited about - the scabby roadside lancia, the Y-reg audi (surely one of the oldest left anywhere, seems to have its original plates as well) or the wheels on that Seat Ibiza, which seem to be MEGA rare nowadays, I bet Biqqle wouold love to put them on his.

Posted

On the Bristol, does that panel behind the front wheel not lift out? Sure it is a cubby hole of some kind or even where the spare wheel resides. Fab pics.

Posted

The only positive I can see in those bristols is that they're so shit they're actually appealling.

Posted

Some great spots there. Is that junkman's P6 ? Those Bristol lower wings are indeed compartments for the spare wheel one side and the battery the other.

Good stuff.

That Y reg Audi 100 is one of the earliest. I've only seen one other Y and didn't buy it because it was an auto.

Although, like any sensible person, I would rather gouge my own eyes out with a rusty teaspoon than live in London, I must say I am insanely jealous of the amount of High Class Chod there is in the capital. Any one of those spots would have me feverishly playing a game of pocket billiards if I saw them down here. Brilliant.

Agree that the Lagonda is a Lagonda btw

That Taunus has been in that estate car park on the north side of Wandsworth Bridge for as long as I can remember. Never seen it move.....

A few more from the past months. I enjoyed the body kit on the Jag but the Vauxhall was by far and away the top spot.

Fair play, that Royale is something else. Top bombing, sir!

Posted

I was pretty pleased with the Royale...

Couple more from the past few months. The BMW shares a stable with Astons of recent and Sixties vintage. The duct-taped Cadillac is regularly driven by an old dear around Fulham, where the Belmont is also a regular (alongside an E-reg Fiat Regata which I've never managed to snap and therefore retains mythical status). The Reliant Kitten was in Hammersmith with its rather eccentric owner.

Four more. The Sherpa was OMG import registration. The Y-reg Suzuki Alto recently replaced an A-reg Fiesta which itself replaced a K-reg Reliant Regal saloon about ten years ago.

A bit more cack, mainly from the Earls Court / Primrose Hill area.

I have no idea what the green abomination is at base - probably a Yank. The Citroen seems to be an import reg. The Escort was pleasingly povvo spec, the Cortina (a flashback to 1993 if ever there was one) is still going strong, and as for the Micra/Jag convertible, that's quite possibly the worst thing I've seen in my life.

The green car is quite something. Looks like an Infiniti Q45 but the front end with the tall bonnet, Bentley-style grill and (corsa?) headlamps seem to be an aftermarket/barry boy fitment.

Certainly some impressive stuff in London. Thanks for sharing!

That Royale is gorgeous.

The green thing made me physically sick.

Good spots mind, keep them coming.

Great spots, loads of interesting stuff in London zones 1 and 2.

A little more - the green Cortina, this time in daylight; a US-spec Saab we've had before, still with a nasty dent; a very early W124 (assuming it's not a private plate); a Kensington Honda; and, just about visible in a mews dealership, a Fiat 130 Coupe and, a snip at £14k, the saltiest Mehari I've seen.

And a few more. The Volvo estate was really nice - there's a few of these still in use as middle-class chariots. The AC was a little bit special: it's a Greyhound and one of 83 built. The Rolls is in utterly crumbly condition - the owner also has a white saloon version, also with LUV on the numberplate, and equally crusty. Definitely a WINNAH. The Vitesse made my day - clearly enthusiast-owned and in pretty much  flawless condition.

More tat. My highlights were the giffer-owned Daihatsu Charade and the Hyundai Pony which, though a lot younger than what I tend to snap, is now a seriously rare sight. The black Merc in the first photo was a genuine 6.9. We've had the Minor before but I couldn't resist the patina.

Brilliant spot Adrian. Whenever I've been to London I'm always running against time so spots are limited. But there really is some wonderfully varied and interesting stuff down there.
