Baby names - Car based

Recommended Posts

I am due to become a dad in February and choosing potential names is a nightmare.

I'd love to have a car related name, but my missus has gotten quite good at spotting them if I mention one!

Can anyone think of any?

I have managed to get 'Chevelle' onto the 'maybe' list.

We don't know whether it is a boy or a girl yet, so all suggestions welcome.

Well, Austin Healey the rugby player seemed to turn out alright... Shame his dad wasn't Mr Maestro though.

Tagora and Solara are lovely names, especially for a girl.

If it's a boy, how about

Hunter for a boy?

Okay, so he'd sound like a Gladiator from that crap 90s TV show, but it's classic Autoshite...

Letters are so over-rated. What if s/he has to look for a job in China or Saudi Arabia?

605. S/he is guaranteed to be the only one in the class.

Failing that, Orion would be interesting for a boy and Gloria is a fabulous girl's name.

Arosa or Ronda could be interesting, too, if your wife can be convinced.

Marina, of course. I actually think it's quite a nice name.

I knew a lass called Marina when I was at uni - she was lovely.

Estelle Morris is the name of a Labour Party politician, so if it's a girl......

X1/9?

:o Icsunonove sounds much better.

I suppose if it were a lad, he could go around quoting Patrick McGoohan when he got older...

There's only one Girls name that would fit.

Aurelia.

You could go for Gabria. Not officially a name, as such, but "AIRBAG" backwards.

Octavia... Fabia...(Yeti)....

Farina?

Motorbike wise....?

Speaking of Skodas, Felicia is also a female name.

Lancias are another good one...Not just Aurelia, but Flavia, Fulvia (not so much), Aprilia or, for the shite jackpot, Lancia ZETA (see also Peugeot 806). Zeta, apart from the letter, is a bona fide Greek name (usually written "Zetta" when referred to in English, to help the reader realise that the 'e' is pronounced like in 'echo' and not as in 'zebra').

Alfa Romeos, too. Giulia, Giulietta, Alfetta...

If you want something more Eastern European for a girl's name, there's always Tavrija, Dacia and Zastava!

So many girls' names, very few boys' ones....Maybe ANADOL- although we already know what kind of dyslectic error can be made with that!

I dont know what your surname is, but could you have some sneaky fun with initials?

BMW, NSU, OHC, OHV, GLS, MGB?

There are loads of options.

This from a man whose initials are PMS!
