Let's see 'em, the car you keep meaning to own but never quite get around to. Here's mine...not exotic, not (too) expensive but an itch I'm yet to scratch.

What's yours??

When I win the lottery...

Lovely Italian styling: check

frugal 2.3 litre engine: check

galloping tinrot: check

...just the thing to keep you amused if you are too rich to work.

I nearly bought one once but the paint had shrunk and crazed all over it (a bit like the bonnet on my Safari but I am not so picky nowadays).

In that colour, I still have buyers remorse from 2006 in White city - £6999 from car giant for a car under 3 years old, it was the fact it was not ready for the first MOT that scared me away...

Not setting my sights very high am I?

Got to be in black, white or silver.

A 'classic' Saab 900:

A mid-spec non-turbo version like this one* would be lovely :D

*I actually considered this very car when it was on eBay recently, as it seemed very sound and was owned by a couple of Saabists. It went for £256...

These are fabulous. Light weight and plenty of grunt. When I had my 205-GTi engined one, a mate had one of these with a twin carbed, big-valved 1360 XY in it, and it were CLASS. Would esat and shit Nova GTEs.

Porsche 996, orange indicators are a must too.

(that one is LESS than I paid for a 2nd hand Corrado VR6 some years ago).

+1 on the XM

Prices seem to vary from £500 shit to £4000 minters with very little inbetween.

On my wishlist:

The price decline seem to have stalled at around £7000. So it stays on the list for now.

Avantime. One day soon I'll have one and I'm sure it'll be a massive dissapointment and a financial disaster. Still want though.

I don't have that many automotive ambitions left really, which is a lovely position to be in! :D However there are two marques that have always been way beyond my budget, that I really feel I should do something about if ever I can; unlikely as that is.

S3 Continental "Chinese Eye" please!

What I'd really like is one of the later ones with the more muscular stying, but my Google Image search turned up the Persuaders shot and I couldn't resist...

Wouldn't kick the Dino off the driveway either!

ADO16, ideally a nice early crinkly grilled little number.

Nova Sport.

Lotus Carlton. This will almost certainly never happen, but a man's got to dream.

Perhaps if we called this "One day I'll own one again" I could add these:
