Cheshire police stopped a zafira on the M62 at Warrington as it appeared "overloaded". There were fifteen people onboard.All unrestrained. It must have looked like a hydrofoil.

Before I buy tyres I need a new tyre pressure sensor as one has failed. I am wary of the cheap chinese items - the cheapest I can get a genuine item is £50. Unnecessary tech because people cannkt check tyre pressures.

I get the shakes when I see polybushes - having fitted them to the rear subframe on a mk3 mondeo. Never again.....

The paint on this was making my teeth itch - the weather and me doing my LGV meant it was lucky to get even a wash. I took a clay bar to it. I don't think the poor car has ever seen a coat of polish - the lubricant looked like gravy after I had applied the clay. I then applied some poorboys black hole. Sadly only a full repaint will make it perfect which isn't going to happen. The car has had money spent on it - but no love. It really needs tyres - all are legal but not by much - wheelspin in second gear is easy - a combination of quality tyres and cheapo ditchfinders plus the rubber is hard enough to roller skate on. Even mid - range ones are over £130 a corner so I am unsure what I will do.

My e60 had same issues. It was the controller that screws to the underside of the headlight - not sure if MB have a similar setup though.

My insignia. Plenty of kit and considering the high mileage wear on the interior is minimal. The engine is gruff but it has a turn of speed and I am enjoying 50 odd mpg and £ 35 a year road tax.

Speed sensor wenr on our granada. Trip computer went on the fritz and no fourth gear. Back in the day I had to get one from Ford stealer.

Does it have a trip computer?

Prior to getting the insignia I got other half to message a seller getting rid of an e61 - I made them an offer. There was no reply. Same car now on ebay for what I offered. You can't help people.

Were they fitting a rocker gasket?

I think this afflicts a few BL products. My SD1's were the same - bad headache and I looked like Lloyd Bridges in Airplane.

I have started watching " Filthy Rich and Catflap" on DVD - I hadn't seen it since it was originally aired. Nigel Planer does a really good job with his character - seedy and extremely unpleasant.

A thread about builders on another part of the forum made me remember this gem - I may have mentioned this before so bear with me. My first job after leaving school - boss had a builder in for odd jobs. He was shit - like O'Reilly from Fawlty Towers. One occasion he was paid to brick up a doorway to an office. He did the job and left. I was using a press and could see into the office with the doorway that had been bricked up. Boss was going ballistic to the foreman. Boss then left. Foreman, who had started laughing gestured for me to come in. I went in and he said " Look at that" pointing to the freshly bricked up doorway. Builder hadn't even trimmed the carpet. He had laid the bricks on it.

Very sad. I often find myself reading the same articles again and again. Some great content.
