  1. Never heard of anybody having any success with them.
  2. My eldest had his term timetable sent out. Blank as fuck.
  3. A bargain. But the sub and springs can get in the sea.
  4. I hope your partner is better soon. I doff my cap to you for the work you have done - not for the faint of heart and you can see why such a repair by a specialist would cost ££££. The engine looks very clean. Modern oils really are worth every penny.
  5. Heading back along the A562 home to Warrington when I spied a beautiful fox bodied mustang heading opposite way towards Widnes. Dark metallic green with grey wheels. Much want.
  6. I was thinking about cars which have evolved to the point have been nothing like their original incarnation and losing something in the process. The mondeo immediately springs to mind. I only ever drove diesel examples of these but I remember being bowled over by them when they first came out. Even allowing for the turbo lag they were a quantum leap after the sierra. I had an early one of these on a X plate with the tddi engine. It was comfortable and well built but a bit sterile. We currently run one of these but an estate. It is a nice place to be and has plenty of room but it is a bit meh to drive - it needs more power and only when parking do you realise how bloody big it is. Looks only a mother could love. I have been a passenger in one and it was comfortable but otherwise unremarkable. When ford decided to kill the mondeo off I was not surprised - it had become lardy and the engines that powered them were unremarkable - I used to find fords a pleasant and engaging steer but that seems to have gone. People now want SUV's or crossovers and not cars like the mondeo. Can you think of any others?
  7. Corgi cubs. A blast from the past. Always thought the police car was at bit UFO / Ed Straker - esque. Me and my brother had a green jeep and a couple of shell tankers as well as the police car. There was even a helicopter but I don't recall seeing it in the shops. Takes me back to the mid to late 70's.

70's housewives favourite Patrick Mower - at the wheel of a 2600 SE SD1. He did some adverts for AR in the early 80's.
  9. At first I thought this was the Land Rover. Not good for a nine year old car.
  10. Watched a rather obscure British film called for queen and country. Somewhat surreal seeing Denzel Washington driving a marina.
  11. The burning man festival in the US has been affected by so much rain that nobody can get in or out. Maybe they should call it the drowning man?
  12. I have a soft spot for hot/warm/lukewarm stuff from BL in the 80's. My dad paid £1200 for a six (!) year old montego VDP EFi - it was on it's second coat of paint by then ( silk green). It was a nice place to be and went like fuck - it was quicker than my mk2 cav SRi that I had at the time and better on fuel. The MG cars with their colour coded plastics and red / grey interiors made contemporary fords look very meh indeed. I always wanted a montego turbo - in targa red. It never happened. I console myself that I did own a rover SD1 vitesse and I still have a VDP EFi which is still a work in progress.
  13. At least it gives you time to start saving for a box.
  14. An ex work colleague was over the moon with his new one on PCP until I pointed out the motor was finest renault - he suddenly looked as if somebody had shit in his slippers.
  15. w Why you need the hose - the plugs are quite deep.
  16. The new plugs have made a world of difference. Car is much smoother and needs smaller applications of the throttle.
  17. They were done when the valve stem seals were replaced. Thank fook.
  18. Ten years or 100k. They will not need replacing again.
