Something I have not done since the 90's. The pedal is useful when you are working at a table. Working with ali takes a bit of skill due to the way it responds to heat. I would only buy one that would do ali - otherwise there isn't much point. Having said that you can do neat welds on steel that require minimal grinding.

Took the decorations down at the weekend. Normally cannot wait to get them down but felt a bit sad this year. I later remarked to my wife that once you get past 50 you never know if it's your last christmas.

The handbrake on my A6 was a PITA was the same message. I am fairly certain the unipart samson battery I fitted was the culprit.

When I had the valve stem seals done on my 545 it was done for set price. They do them every day. It's a pity that many cant do things this efficiently - other BMW specialists ran a mile which says something.

Many of these look fab from 20ft away but up close they are bulging with filler. Like the brides they transport.

Today bought two radiator valves. A litre of corrosion inhabitor and a tube of jointing paste. That will be £51 please. Things are getting silly expensive.

Ordered a tacho card at the Weekend. It arrived today. Very un - British efficiency.

What kwality work could you see?

I got £2.8k for my lovely 545. I now find myself looking at cars with bent eight engines. People selling similar cars to my e60 - but want £4.5 - 6.5k. Sorry but you will be stuck with them forever. I actually think big pez engine are on a downward spiral - possibly permanent. I will wait a bit and see what happens - I would have another BMW V8.

I bought an insignia with 182k on the clock so I am in no position to laugh at anybody.

Fresh cherries do larger models - eldest has a mach 1 mustang and a ford maverick which you have to paint yourself.

When I got rid of my 545 I quietly acknowledged to myself that I wouldn't have another V8 as a daily. Sadly even 50 + mpg and £35 road tax of my insignia cannot make up for the smoothness of a bent eight. So I may have another V8. But it will have to be reasonably cheap.

Pitting will not cause the issues you describe.

I believe some of the local rags sent reporters to the scene. FFS....

The rain and wind stopped long enough for me to throw soapy water on the insignia. It was getting to the point that even getting into it would leave your clothes filthy.
