  1. I feel much better for you seen as the inner structure is ok. It's no big deal if you find the sills need metal letting into them.
  2. I have the juniors one on the first card. I bought mine - and the simon snorkel - because they were the first picture card issues and both had metal bases - they don't turn up that often.
  3. A bit like one of my colleagues who thought she was going to be joining crime scene investigation but joined the police.....
  4. Piss poor all the documentation is still with the keeper. The interior is lovely. But like you I would not be happy spending £4k on something that isn't what you had hoped for.
  5. Car mechanics had a TTiD that was a PITA. Contributor Mike Humble took it on after the series finished. He spent money on it and ended up getting rid - the buyer intended to part it out. I am finding out with my insignia that GM parts are not the bargain they were.
  6. Drove one of these across Canada in 1996. Picked it up at Edmonton Airport. Through rockies to Vancouver/ Vancover island and Seattle. An auto 4 pot shows it's limits climbing some of those gradients.
  7. Thank you for your efforts. Is this why site has been offline for good portions of last few days?
  8. I dread to think what the rust is like where you can't see. I love a monza.
  9. Those seats look fab. I was lucky enough to drive these when they came out - a huge leap from the sierra. But I really like sierras.
  10. Dinky - with speedwheels - epitomise the slow death of the company. For me anyway.
  11. I realised today how fooked the insignias glow plugs are. And how strong the battery is.
  12. Are you close to the Irish sea? Cannot say I have ever seen it from where we live although on a clear day you can see Flintshire from Rainhill stoops.
  13. Weather in Warringtonshire is too shite to be messing around with horseless carriages. And I have a week off work. So I started to blitz the kitchen cupboards. They needed a clean and sort out. I am in process of organising a party for a packet of fry - them - yourself prawn crackers that are approaching their tenth birthday.
  14. Ours has gone. Inside the knob the alloy is crumbling. But they have lasted 25 years.
  15. Yep. I doubt a plumber would want to swap cartridges - they would fit new taps.
  16. Bastard taps. 25 years old. Cold has dribbled for years. Stripped the cold down. One of the disc valves has a piece missing. Bought new cartridge. Old valve has a large threaded collar where it screws into the body of the mixer. This needs to be transferred to the new valve Collar will not budge. Need to be careful because if I cannot get it off it will need to go back - if it's goosed I cannot turn the water back on. No local merchants can get hold of the collars. Knackers. I managed to get it all back together. £14 worse off and tap still dribbles. Need new mixer taps and flexis with isolaters as mine has none. I love houses.
  17. Yesterday I replaced a couple of thermostatic radiator valves at home. This morning I struggled to get out of bed - I felt like I had been crushed. I hate middle age.
  18. I have trouble sleeping at night. But then want to sleep during the day.
  19. This cold snap can get to fuck. I have severe asthma but thankfully no longer steroid dependant. However the colld is affecting my sinuses - my head aches along with my teeth and my ears.
  20. Hattons models is closing. After 77 years. Had a shop on Smithdown Rd before moving to Widnes. Given the eye watering prices for locos and rolling stock I am not shocked.
