  1. I guess the used car market in the London area is a bit better than Scotland. So what about @Supernaut drives Rev down to London and buys a car there. He gets free transport south and you get Rev delivered. Thats's a win win situation for both of you.
  2. Come to think of it, I'm the same. Where I spent many childhood years, I don't remember the people, but I remember some of the cars.
  3. How is it possible to remember such a thing? This is over 50 years ago. I can barely remember what I had for breakfast.
  4. 1995 Lada Niva diesel 600 pounds https://www.finn.no/car/used/ad.html?finnkode=342642793
  5. Two old American barges who most likely started life in Norway as taxis and therefore I want both. 1953 Chevrolet 3700 pounds Cars like this were in use for a long time here and therefore have had a lot of repairs over the years and on this they have sanded off the paint and are a good example of what these cars can hide under paint. I wouldn't be surprised if my Mercedes is similar. https://www.finn.no/car/used/ad.html?finnkode=342940563 1954 Plymouth Belvedere 3350 pounds https://www.finn.no/car/used/ad.html?finnkode=317740935 This was sold new in Norway, so I don't know why there is a US sign on one of the photos.
  6. Yes will not throw away the old one and will possibly try to rebuild it later.
  7. The wiring for the new alternator is done. All that remains is to test if the alternator charges. And I've received a box of parts so can get started on the next thing. And the next thing is to change the clutch master, if one is capable then it is possible to overhaul the old one, but I'm not so I just change to a new one. ' The tank part on this new one is bigger than the old one, but luckily it fit. And with new fluid and bleeding the system the clutch seems to work. The old one seems to be original to the car so it has really done its job. It was also a little damp on the back of it so it has started leaking too. The next thing is to change the coolant it looks fine but I have no idea how old it is. And I was thinking of changing the upper and lower radiator hose together with this, but the lower one I got doesn't seem to fit so unsure what to do if I should just use the old one or find a new one that fits. That's all for now thanks for reading.
  8. That is also a good opportunity to learn more about troubleshooting cars and cars in general.
  9. Great, now you also need this one Looking forward to lots of Skoda bus and truck info.
  10. According to several sources, Honda Jazz was supposed to be called Honda Fitta until someone told them that Fitte/Fitta in Norwegian is a rough slang word for a woman's genitals. And according to one of these sources, Honda had planed to use this under to describe their new car model also. The Fitta is small on the outside, but big when you get inside. A daily pleasure!
  11. Reading that Zetor book and is a special bus used by Zetor in one of the pictures but what kind of bus is it? A little research and this is a Skoda bus, but I don't know more. But I guess it was used as a mobile workshop.
  12. I have finally got hold of a book I have been looking for, I found it and bought it from a used book shop in the UK on ebay. And it lives up to expectations, lots of interesting history and facts here.
  13. I don't think the first generation Ibiza was officially sold here but Ibiza came for sale here with the second gen. So I think the one I saw was imported.
  14. Around 14-15 years ago there was a black one of these for sale in Norway and it is the only one I have seen here. Regret not buying it.
  15. That must have been a bad day for the driver. I guess he needed new underwear after that.
  16. Stuff like this really annoys me, it's the same with many old American barges where good 4 doors are scrapped or parted out to save 2 door cars.
  17. A picture from a Norwegian police control in the 1960s has appeared here. A overloaded Morris has been stopped and with several people at the back demonstrated the overloading. I have heard of such stories before but never seen a picture before now. One of the stories I've heard is from the 1950s where a truck that was heavily loaded with building materials went up a steep hill and ended up like in the picture above and several people had to gather and gather on top of the truck to get the front wheels down on the ground so it could drive up the hill. Those were simpler times.
