  1. There's an upgrade for that steering wheel cover http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Purple-Universal-Woolen-Long-Plush-Steering-Wheel-Cover-Car-Grips-Accessory-/122429304249?fits=Car+Make%3AMaserati%7CModel%3AGransport&epid=725051734&hash=item1c815aedb9:g:O-YAAOSwc-tY4fut
  2. The best way to get a quick answer to a question on the internet is to ask the question then make another account and answer it wrong
  3. I can see any potential new girlfriend being very impressed if that was leaning up against the wall in the front room
  4. It all looks pretty transparent to me As I read it the evidence of permanent repair is if they temporarily fix it and you take it as being a permanent repair and it breaks down again, cover for one car unless you tell them it's changed, no cover for 48 hours to stop you breaking down then joining, home start from your actual home , er
  5. I had one 12 years ago, it was 10 years old then, on a N plate, a 4.2 Quattro, I absolutely loved driving it , it wasn't the S8 so a bit down on power, 300bhp I think but it went well I had my fun then got out before something big exploded , the other issue was over the winter I worked out on mostly short trips it was doing 8 MPG I sold it then 3 months later I missed it that much I drove to Stoke On Trent to look at another one, took it out on a test drive and fell in love with it , I'd have bought it if the guy hadn't pulled out the 4" thick wad of bills, receipts and service history with some eye watering total due at the bottom. I was then reminded why I'd sold the last one, because it was a daily driver and it scared me to death. My wife drove a 1.1 Fiesta before the A8 which was an auto, something she'd never driven before, I fully expected to get a phone call saying she was in a shop window opposite a junction somewhere but she coped with it well, plus when she went to town she was there 10 minutes before the shops opened so she could park it
  6. Seems like a deal £17 for basic cover £24 for premium cover inc home start https://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/emergency-assist
  7. Rover 75 limousine worth a fortune And also voted best Rover of 2016 by the MG Rover Sussex Facebook group. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/rover-75-limousine-/162640227081?hash=item25de1ceb09:g:i2wAAOSw3ZNZdIHM&clk_rvr_id=1291091485266&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true
  8. You know what pisses me off is rich people constantly encouraging you to save, to put money into your pension , why, so they can get rich on your money, you save up for 30 years so they can give you £50 a week of it back if you're lucky enough to make it to 65-66-67-68 depending which goalpost they're moving , then if you're unlucky bang you're gone and they keep most of it Fuck em , enjoy yourself while you're young, I'm 56 now, I don't want to live past 75 if I'm in good health, 70 if i'm bolloxed, 40s is proper shit, I'm sorry to hear you've lost a mate, 5 years ago a mate of mine took a handful of pills in his 40s , I hadn't seen him for a few years as I really didn't like his wife but it came as a big shock , his funeral was really depressing, though I did learn what "suddenly at home" means in the obituaries
  9. Just googled 1950s bowler hatted paintball fight in Piccadilly , no hits so whats that all about
  10. a bit of a victim of grandad's parking but otherwise this looks a clean LS400 , especially the interior http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322667820052
  11. Is it just turn up and they let you display or do you need to book, is there an autoshite section, my Maserati is taxed and insured now so I might whizz over in it providing nothing expensive falls off between now and then
  12. Without a doubt the best car I've ever owned was a 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX hatchback , it was also the cheapest to run car I've ever owned, bought it at 4 years old from an underwriter who go stuck with it for £7000, had it 2.5 years and sold it for £7100. I loved that car, fast enough to be fun but not STi fast 1st 2nd banned, cat C cat B cat A it also went exactly where you pointed it , to this day I regret selling it
  13. Buy a scout for $1900 and turn it into one worth $30,000 by spending $35,000 on it , that's what most of the US shows seem to do
  14. They are what they are, awful on the road, fantastic off it , I've had 3 over the years 2x 300tdi and a 90 the same year as that fitted with a 200tdi and a LT77 If you've never driven one they are an experience , like nothing else, designed 70 years ago and still drive like it, everywhere you stop people come and chat The last generation with the 2.2 transit engine in are much better on the road but a defender you need a scanner to fix goes totally against the grain If it's not a 500 mile round trip I'd go and have a look at it and drive it if only so you can try one out it's not as if the 200tdi or 300tdi is a rocket ship in comparison My first one was a one owner ex farm 110 high capacity , it was a learning curve as one owner isn't all good when it's a farmer ,60,000 miles on a farm is like 360,000 on the road. Everything was knackered , when you let the clutch up it was like when the cogs turn on a bank safe and eventually the door opens, after a lot of clunking and banging the slack went and it moved , steering was an experience , 1/2 a turn of the ship sized wheel before the wheels moved , it was 150 miles of terrifying motorway driving to get it home, crap wipers, candles for headlights and trucks overtaking me with air pressure bouncing me about with no steering to correct it , engine was good though and a new steering box and back axle sorted most of it out
  15. Be very careful , a number of defenders have been crushed for not complying with the 25 year old rule , if too many parts have been changed they'll just turn up with a trailer and confiscate it. I remember reading a few years back , they crushed a load as they came off the boat , they were proper taking the piss though , basically a new defender built around a 25 year old chassis plate
  16. When my daughter was about 8-9 I had a Defender, she recognised the Land Rover logo on the T shirt of a guy walking towards us at a show Look dad Land rover , Landy Rover , Randy Lover, that's not right, what's Randy Lover as the guy walked past laughing Nothing love, it's a misprint
  17. Cazana for the mot and owners check If you want to find out if it's a CAT D or CAT C if you enter the details into autotrader as if it's your car and you're selling it , a page or two in it'll tell you they need to advertise is as a CAT C or D if it's been previously written off
  18. A bit off topic but what I don't get with wales is, parts of it are reported to be the poorest in the UK, so why spend all that money having road signs made in Welsh and English when there's nobody with a driving licence in Wales that can't read English. Surely that money could've been better spent elsewhere
  19. When I was 18 in my first car a Mk3 cortina I did a fast reverse round a corner starsky and hutch style, didn't go quite to plan as I backed into a telegraph pole putting a dent in the bumper, the rear valance would have been dented had it not turned to a pile of brown dust on the road
  20. That's the impression I got from him, a genuine guy running a small business on customer service, offer them good service at a reasonable price and the word gets round
  21. Environmental costs getting it out of the garden Though I'm a bit confused by parts receipts dated 1991unless there are parts with it, as there's no way it's got that bad in that timeframe if it was on the road in 1991
  22. Guy I know bought a Y reg spider , is that a 156, as a precaution he had the cambelt changed along with all the idler wheels and tensioners Lovely Saturday morning , went out for a drive for some top down enjoyment which quickly turned to shite as it exploded on the A1
  23. Longer than 30 years, when I was a kid 13-14 my dad sold shoes on Rugby Market , this was mid 70s , we used to drive past that Interceptor every Saturday and it never moved, ever , I think it got parked up when the fuel crisis hit and never moved from that day to this. A few years ago The A14 was stuffed so I came off , drove past the house and fuck me , under a sheet but there's no mistaking that back window , still there Now I know what happens to an interceptor stood on mud for 40+ years, it looks like it's been in the sea That's bought back some memories, I was a car nut from a young age, every Saturday I'd look at it for as long as it was in view. I'm sure I'm adopted, my dad made 2 Volvo estates and a Subaru last from 1978 to 2011 , I've had more cars than that in 6 months, I've got 3 and a van now
  24. It's been great, it doesn't like being in the wrong gear , makes a right racket from the drive train if you're in 5th when you should be in 4th ,and something is going thump thump from the back when you turn right, I've had my guy look at it but he can't see or feel anything obvious so it's going to be a case of drive it until it goes bang . the condition it's in I'd say it's worth 4k as the 13ft body ones are quite rare , it was a spit my tea out moment when he said £1200, I thought we were taking 4-5k
  25. A guy I used to work with rang me up 6-7 months ago, he knew I used to do light haulage in a transit pickup You're not looking for a pickup are you No I've got a van now It's just they're getting rid of one at work What is it A 2011 dropside with a 15ft ingimex body 170,000 miles bit scruffy but drives OK and has £8000 worth of service history , not interested No sorry , how much did they want for it Boss says it's going to auction next week with a £1200 reserve but if anyone wants it they can have it for £1200 I'll have it So I sold my van and I'm back in the light haulage game, it's not missed a beat in 6-7 months , the only problem is anything I spend on it is calculated as a % of purchase price 2 tyres 20% of cost A fitted sheet 10% of cost The 4 back tyres are on 3mm so we're talking 40% there
