Volksy, the first train on a major route like London-Leeds is probably early enough to save you having to sleep rough or pay a fortune for a hotel. Can see a bit of a problem with waking people up at 2:30 am, tho...

Sadly we had the square root of F'all in our wallets, the company I was working for isn't paying me until the 6th of May..

Dude - next time ye go adventuring, give me a ring and I'll come get ye!!

I'm self employed, what's a bank holiday?

Its about the only time along with paid sick days and paid holidays where the average 'pleb' is grateful he isn't self-employed  I appreciate the trials and tribulations of being self employed but its a choice at the end of the (bank holi)day :D

Got back from Spain on Saturday just in time to take my new love to the airport - gr10! Tax ran out on the Merc W115 parked outside, no new MOT and the last one ran out 364 days before, drove it to the dungeon despite standing unstarted for over 18 months. Did it on Saturday night so there was tax enough to call the AA should it be necessary!

Picked up A40 and went to a party

Sunday went to a country show then took the lad to Chartwell in the A40 and got involved in a comedy police / fallen tree issue in the road just before Chartwell, everyone mucked in to clear it, good fun.

Cleaned the A40 today, did some work in the office, went to see Les at BL Transverse and took him to my Maestro so he could MOT it tomorrow, he handed me keys to my lovely new Micra K10....switched on the laptop!

I'm self employed, what's a bank holiday?

so am I...problem is my business revolves round other businesses so bank holidays are either spent catching up with the books and then getting stressed about money and then getting even more stressed because none of the miserable scrounging basdtards - I mean clients are in work because they are all on holiday.....

after a few years of this repeating these days I force myself to do nothing on Bank Hols - stress is still bubbling away but I keep busy and get on with the non business shit I have to do which is usually kid/diy or shite related

I worked mosly,

Ordered lots of things for the scimitar though and hoping the postman will deliver some of them soon. I'm looking forward to another radiomobile (possibly with working transitors) and a set of wheel cylinder piston seals from rimmers which I need to repalce one I split in the week.

Oh and I got really pissed on cider.

As I work weekends, these days, working.

Or more precisely, working for the Co-op, from their shiny new £20mil+ depot. Which is a lemon, staffed by prize plums. So the start of a fruit salad of incompetence.

It did afford me the opportunity to see a gathering of Capris, getting set for a run (didn't have the time to stop and take pics, tho' ); and a pic of a really sweet E21 320, which I wouldn't have got if the shite heap I was driving hadn't broken down.

I was looking for jobs on Friday and today, but sadly, nothing turned up. Bollocks, I could've done with the money - the Mondeo's renovation is looking increasingly unlikely, and Meg really wants a new wheel bearing.

As a result, I spent this afternoon in Ikea and Costco with Kay and her ma; surreptitiously playing Real Football Manager on my phone, and buying pants. So just as surreal as ever!

Went to north Norfolk for the weekend. On Saturday, saw a B-reg Citroen BX diesel in West Runton, and talked to the (middle-aged, female) driver - bought second hand in 1988, traded in, bought by a guy in Wkefield and then sold back to her by him. Photos whe I can find the card reader.

I went camping in my Ami to Kington in Herefordshire.

Imagine my surprise when a beige Mk I Escort van with Nimbus camper conversion and Rostyle wheels arrived on the site.

Apologies for the crap photos, only had my phone with me.

Wow- that 'awning' he's got on the back of the gorgeous ford is not a place you would want to be when the engine is started .....a bit 'Poland 1940' if you get my drift

Friday - rest day, got up in time for the flypast, shouted at the telly for lack of Vulcans.

Saturday - eleven runs on the Paisley - Linwood with one of those Dennis Dart things whilst the tamed mechanic "fixed" the Proton's exhaust by cutting out one of the silencers. Up on power and running much better for 46 miles until the welds split again.

Sunday - slept in, went to the shed, had a shot of an Ailsa and did a bit of rubbing down and painting of the ex North Birmingham Busways National 2.

Monday - nine runs between Paisley and Bridge of Weir via the moon with a Mercedes minibus, cashing in a wholly acceptable £36.
