Yes! Maybe a certain shite element could be included in the photography as well as the subject. Extra points for chopping off half the subject matter, bolloxing up the exposure or getting your own shadow in the foreground, ebay style.

 

I'm thinking that one of cavmad's pics of 'most' of his Mk4 Astra outside the lockups would be a great candidate!

Majestic, and actually very good at what it does well, but to the average Joe in the street, it's shite. We all know it's not, but for different reasons.

 

To me, the 604 is up with the Tagora. It's French, it's rare (probably more Tagoras on the road in the UK...), addicted to rust, and the engine is only 3/4 of what it should have been. It's Autoshite.

Right, might finally have some joy with the calendar malarkey. Can we nominate/vote for 12 pictures, decent quality, between us and take it from there?

Personally speaking I think we should go for member's cars, but will go with the flow as it were if people would prefer images of cars they like rather than actually own.

 

Don't shoot the messenger if it doesn't work out, I've spent a fair bit of time trawling the web for people who knock calendars up and let's just say they ain't cheap though (fingers crossed) I think I've found some decently priced ones now. Need to send them the pictures etc and they're going to get back to me with a price. Ideally I'll try and get an Autoshite type 'frame' to go around the pictures (such as the home page of here with pictures in the middle) and maybe a slogan of the car owner's choice for each month. Like I say no shooting the messenger if it doesn't work but I'm happy to at least try then get some prices and see what people think.

I've had calendars made up from my photos quite cheaply - most of the on-line digital photo printing people will do it. I used Vistaprint. It gets cheaper the more you have printed - I had 10 done, and it came to just over £6 each.

Aye it's Vistaprint who have been back to me and they seem well priced. Others were looking at £16.99 upwards or wanted a minimum of 500.

Just with whats in this thread, these so far for me, plus the orange kadett, the simca 180 and probably some other arty shots of members cars I can't remember right now. I think it would be nice to have a split of members cars and some shite-spottages.

The picture of Bol's Landcrab outside the pub is just about as good as it gets imho. The only possible way I think it could look better is if it was in black and white and the 'Indian restaurant' (or whatever it says) banner photoshopped out.

 

Talbot one is class and (from a personal point of view) your car and Louise's Allegro should definately be included.

Cover: BoobyDoo's tagoras - the one with the two together; make that page wipe clean, eh?

In no particular order:

Seth's Estate - I love it, looks so cool, and Seth is a top bloke too.

Trig's Kadett - see above - with added orangeness.

Reg Bo11ox Crab - outside the pub shot, quality.

Mr Bickle's Bluebird. Or one of the Estafettes. Or...or... let's face it Mr Bickle is teh king, and will have something of interest, and we should recognise this.

Angry Dicky's A35. Saw it @ Stondon, and it's fantastic. Have always liked the shape, and his has character.

Electric Leyland's Audi 100. Pure class. Tatty enough to be interesting, smart enough to pass Mots!

Humber Sceptre's Maxi. An early one, and absolutely horrible. I love it.

DieselNutJob's 604, the above picture, all moody looking. Just classic, wish there were more about.

O.k, seemingly they can't do Autoshite colours (or anything else not in their catalogue) for backgrounds but they can do a small slogan for each page and can be different for each page.
