You love it and don't* have enough to keep you busy enough already.

Hmm.

I’ve far too clutter in the unit and I’ve not really being doing any ‘workshop’ type work recently as I’ve had other bits and pieces taking my time up so I’m using the Xmas period to clear out all the crap, knock a couple of walls down to free up more space for prepped cars then concentrate purely on sales in the new year that I can fit around the other stuff.

With all that in mind and taking into account the dozen or so cars that need various degrees of work on them to get them to retail standard, it seems a thoroughly good time to go and buy something else that’s faulty (and with hardly a stellar reputation in the first place when running right) and drag it several hundred miles north.

It’s got the potential to make interesting content for you lot though so happy Xmas…

There is some good news to report…they’ve ditched the horrible paper caps that ruined an otherwise more or less acceptable cup of coffee.

Up yours, Greta…

In my limited experience travelling on a train costs a hell of a lot more than £65 a month though,  Although I do get your point.

c6 no problem right

Said C6 cost me a fraction of the Range Rover in maintenance despite having over 50k more miles on the Citroen which was sold as parts car. I'd say if that's the car he's got little to worry about.

I got there, collected, paid and am now back at Lymm services having dinner after a faultless four hour blast up the motorway.

I am deeply surprised (in a very pleasant way)

It’s down on the V5 as a C4 Grand Picasso if that means anything? It’s very well equipped, with a full complement of connectivity on the dashboard along with keyless entry etc, powered tailgate and even massage seats.

Talking of seats, they are very French, with deep comfortable padding yet supportive as well.

Assuming it makes it the last 25 miles home, then I’m not playing wet belt roulette any further with it…the first thing on the agenda is to pull the engine out, stick it on a stand and whip the sump and head off then replace the rings that will almost certainly be the cause of the oil burning, followed by a new wet belt and oil pump pick up.

Once that’s all done, I’m going to stick a thousand miles or so on it to ensure all is well whilst throwing it on my neighbours gas analyser to check whether we need a new cat.

From there, assuming all is well, then it’ll be going into the body shop for a bit of TLC to the London scars and I’ll get a new (used) pair of rear seats to restore the full carrying capacity and it can go on to live again hopefully 🤞

Once it’s in the workshop, I’ll document the engine rebuild assuming there’s an appetite for attempting to rescue one of these puretech lumps?

Oh, it’s the one from here! The for sale thread was a bit light on unneccessary nonsense like photos 😄

Can't imagine that being anything other than very comfy! Good buy if you're happy to do the necessary 👍

Very happy to see the gruesome pics of its undercrackers

Oooff, if anyone fears C6 ownership, just imagine owning that thing. Respect to for the commitment to mend it against the odds!

At least the C6 has an engine which doesn't leave you in constant fear of immediate and irreversible catastrophic bork.
