just watched his vid of that Barn find Metro Van, he paid £1300 for it, and under all the crap it was actually pretty solid..

He didn't know what A+ meant on the engine tho!!!

I have been enjoying this rather more than I thought I would, what a sweet thing the Metro van is turning out to be.

I do like Ben he is a wind up merchant, on one video he claimed pink antifreeze, green antifreeze doesn't matter what you use, in another he claimed TR7 stood for Total Reliability 7, you just know there will be somebody in the youtube comments who will completely miss the joke and go off on one!

As I type this, I'm watching the Alfa147 video, that's some fab welding.

it's a great channel, I'm surprised he doesn't get more love on here as he's rescued some absolute shiters as well as being a great presenter.  He's definitely one of us

I enjoy his videos, and I won the ZX raffle…

although I plan to move this on shortly!

he’s a nice enough guy, a lot of what he says is tongue in cheek, like he when says ‘road worthy exempt… I mean MOT exempt’. I think he says it for the interactions in the comments!

I mostly like him, although his business plan of copying Vice Grip Garage is pretty transparent!

There aren't many guys on YT from the UK who do car stuff who are actually entertaining. IMO they tend to be nerdy and boring or like that awful roidy Alex shithead who makes my teeth itch.

Just watched it,nice not to have a load of piss taking too. Only other one that I liked, tho quiet now,is Badger lodge, can't stand the endless "reviewers" I driveaclassic looks like she's on deaths door as well??

Ben is great, I like to think he’s my spirit animal - definitely someone you’d have a proper laugh with down the pub. The Metro van is beyond awesome. Praying it goes to raffle so I can spend my life savings on tickets.

I really enjoy his channel.

Is it not pretty clear he’s joking when he messes about with what A+ on a rocker cover means or what TR7 stands for?

Judging by the YouTube comments, apparently not it genuinely sails over people’s head. It’s all engagement I suppose!

In one episode he declared that the DOHC badge on a Rover's rocker cover stood for "Does over heat constantly". No doubt triggering more rage in the comments! 😁

I enjoyed the cortina and granada vids even though the granny got cubed after donating it's engine and box.

Did you see how he saved an ambassador he is a true shitter  and the 1300 were one of them broke in two just left the engine and diagrams engine it was hilarious

I watched his video on the 147 - he seems like a nice bloke, but my inability to focus combined with his inability to focus caused some sort of harmonic effect that meant I found his video really difficult to watch.

Posted

I’ve always found his vids interesting but too long to watch in one sitting, so I end up losing concentration.

His cars and coffee recently was great, loads of excellent cars.

I liked the one with the MK1 Cavalier. It came from a garage in my neck of the woods. In the video there was a big clump of what looked like iron wool or brambles stuck to the underneath...

It's even more entertaining if you watch them on 2.0 speed!

I've been watching Tasty Classics fairly regularly since he put out the video of the beige mk2 Cavalier (which is currently undergoing heavy restoration by someone else and being fitted with an Audi engine).

SkyRocket Automotive is another one I have been following. Enjoying seeing his progress on that very crusty Austin Ambassador he is working on.

he seems to be hoarding cars now even tho at first he said he was moving them on to others who would enjoy and improve them..

Must admit the longer vids do seem to drag on a bit, but then again im used to 20-30 minute vids

He has raffles running on both the Yellow Elite (I couldn't resist a ticket for that, even though I have run out of space!), the MGBGT and the Alfa 147. The Golf and BMW raffles have ended, presumably have been won by someone. So I think he is being pretty sensible and keeping things moving along.

Steph from Idriveaclassic has a new vid on the Riley One point Five. I think I've watched every episode, a few involve Steph's health issues and are very honest and personal. She's a very brave lady and was on here at one point, maybe still is.

I think I've seen every Tasty Classics but maybe missed some early ones. I like the longer episodes.

Skyrocket Automotive is totally new to me but that rusty Ambassador, oh my . . . . . . . it's going to be interesting  : )

Number 27 is good for driving experiences, especially all kinds of older Italian cars which I like, but it doesn't often involve any work being done on the cars (apart from a troublesome Ferrari 328 GTS from a couple of years ago and a Pantera).

Any other similar UK sites? I like watching them in the dark winter nights.

What's she said about health issues? I'm aware of her and the gastric band thing, although don't subscribe. She often appears on TwitteX as a suggestion and appears to have gone from rather large to looking like she's now uncomfortably underweight.

Mr Cheeseburger it is about the gastric band thing and how that is affecting her life.

Steph has driven a wide variety of cars, including a 1929 Ford Model A, loads of 50s, 60s, 70s stuff.

Ben at Tasty Classics has a good selection of ongoing projects and he does clear out stock to make way for new projects. My 2 favourites are the Panhard (quite a few episodes on this one, really interesting) and the ever-present 1969 Ford F-series V8 pickup (think it's a 390ci) which Steph also borrowed in IDAC for a drive around.

Hadn't seen this channel before. It came up as a suggested video so I just watched the metro van episode. Surprised that I managed to watch the whole 2 hours  and enjoyed it so have subscribed!

I enjoyed most of his productions and have watched since he started really, but the recent long ones are a chore to watch, I have to break them into 3 bits over the weekend, stay up late, sneak a few minutes in here and there... I know I'll stop bothering soon as my time is too precious. It's a shame they are not released in episodes, and that would give him a bit of a break from heading to the inevitable burn out... What's the rush?
