Important* family birthday that weekend otherwise I would have happily trundled up in the Rover :(

It's only about half an hour away as well 😅

what better way for your family member to spend their birthday than in a car park with some random dudes off the internet and some ropey old motors

Just had a quick skim through here and with just over 2 weeks to go it looks like we have about 20 of us turning up. Wow!

Really looking forward to it. 924 engine is all back together after HGF so I now have 2 weeks to try to get it to start.

I am just hoping I can get my exhaust bodged/patched up so I am not too conspicuous because ya know as if REV is completely inconspicuous otherwise!

I will be coming up round the M25 from Junction 2 (and then heading back that way) incase anyone else is coming from/going that direction wants to see what an Invacar bombing its way along the M25 looks like :) (assuming the M25 itself is not buggered in some fashion on that day of course LOL)

Bung me down as a maybe as I'm potentially dog sitting that weekend.  Bringing her along isn't an option unfortunately as she's a nervous/feisty little thing where crowds are concerned.  Good judge of character though.  She went nuts at some estate agents the other day whilst we sat in traffic next to them!

I have a couple of chums who are totally AS but not on AS yet, they’re going to come along too, hopefully it will tip them over the edge and they’ll join up.

One is bringing his  tatty old Land Rover and the other a Mk1 Vauxhall Corsa / Combi / Combo  / can't remember what they’re called van that he’s put 3 spoke wheels on and swapped the engine for an Isuzu TD with too much boost.

Cans of baked beans and some jubilee clamps and tiger seal?

I suppose it depends when the boost comes along.

I'd like to go to this, but I think we'll be busy first thing that morning so wouldn't get there until lunch time. Also the cars we have currently probably aren't that interesting compared the those on @vulgalour's video as we have Mrs Concern's Moodus

Or my Volvo C30

neither of which are prime Autoshite. If we should come, which should we bring?

C30 gets my vote. Reminds me of the 480s

Posted

C30 please. Especially with that reg.

Another vote for the C30 here

I'd be drooling over the C30 T5 for sure...... If no one has shouted dibs on it 😁

I'll be bowing out sadly for this now. I'll be off on a collect 👍

Anybody else getting excited about Sunday?

I have put half a day aside on Saturday to prep the Sierra for its biggest event to date.

yeah looking forward to it but can't decide which car to take. Was planning on taking the XM as the only running member of the fleet I haven't taken before but now thats gone , do I want the stress of taking the Favorit or the Panda or just bring the C180 and looks at everyone elses cars

cant wait to see the Sapphire

Yes.  Can't wait to see the Sierra.

My red Astra has been off the road for a year and I have booked the MOT for Friday morning.  Still need to put the exhaust back and tidy a load of stuff up.  Why does everything seem to take so long?

I will dig out my box of miscellaneous Sierra bits, but don't raise your hopes.  It is rubbish.

Yup, looking forward to seeing some cars from here in the metal, and to putting faces to shiters I haven't met yet - I've only met 2 so far.

Will someone please prepare some name tags? I won’t have a clue who’s who!

Thank you.

I love surprises, even if they’re rubbish.

I'm a bit preoccupied with trying to get the 924 to start after the head gasket shenanigans. Once I sort that I can start to think about the rest of my life. It's a bit all encompassing.

If not successful today/Saturday I may need a lift down the hill from a shitter.

Or I could bring the Mini for some early April sunburn and a prolonged discussion about whether Prince engine and Midlands Gearbox or not.

Thanks for thinking of me @lisbon_road. However it's 126 miles away so not very close.

I must have got confused. You're not in Kent then.

No Nottingham! The Corsa came from @MrGTI6 who lives in Kent. I got the train(s) down there to buy it. Maybe where you've linked me and Kent.

I am certainly looking forward to it, it will be the first time I have been able to drive myself and REV to a car gathering like this :)

I just hope I can bash my sleep cycle into shape, as I would like to be there as early as I can manage

do you know what time you plan to set out or such? I am curious if we might find each other en-route, ill be going be going via the Blackwall tunnel to the A2 then Junction 2 of the M25 to Junction 6 where this flower farm place is at :) (I am also happy to try and coordinate to specifically  meet up somewhere say at your place, and then we had out together incase you realise you need/want someone to go ahead of you or such, although I have never tried to to keep in-contact with someone while im REV, not sure audible I might be over the noise of things when im buzzing along at 60Mph! or if you just want to see REV dance with traffic along the M25 :) )

Errrr…

POLL(ish) (ha)

I am but one man, but have 2 cars I would like to bring. So my question to you ladies and gents is…

C63 or Focus ST?

A pro and con for each:

MB: Loud. Angry. German.

ST: Not broken.

MB: Will use 3/4 of a tank on start up.

ST: Will break.

I don’t really know how a voting system will work so… CAVORT!
