Your current car's/cars' list to purchase price ratio

Inspired by a comment in the "what's your thing" thread.... How many more times would your car have cost new, adjusted for inflation, than the price you paid when you bought it? And what's your best ever ratio? (Discounting stuff you got for free.) I assume an extremely cheaply bought Bentley or Rolls will win this, but let's see. 

My XC70 was £850, giving me a list to purchase ratio of 62.

One of my best but not current was probably the 1992 w140 500SEL i bought in about 2012 for £1000 (centre, in my 2012 merc themed collection) When the w140 was launched it was quite eyewateringly costly for its time.

IIRC about 67k in 1992, or about 110k in 2012, so <1% or a ratio of 110/1

I’m. It sure I understand the question, but my £500 P38 cost about £55,000 in 2000 which according to some random inflation calculator online is £116,000 today or about what a Range Rover costs now.

As for percentages and all that bollocks , if I’d listened that much at school I’d be driving a new not 24 year old Range Rover.

I'm not sure I understand the question either, but the original bill of sale for my A8 shows £46,995 in 2005, I paid £1900 in 2024.

I can’t find an accurate list price for my E430, but going by Parker’s etc. it works out at about £80,000 brand new with inflation.

I paid £250 for it, and it was working and had an MOT. Probably the best £250 I’ve spent, even though it went bang after 6 months.

uhhh to  get my car back in the day it would quite literally cost you an arm and a leg, not sure what that is adjusted for inflation!

The E46 BMW 325ci,we bought for 300 quid two years ago,and is still going strong,would have cost over £40 k back in 2002.Son checked on the makers website,and it had been ordered with loads of extras including TV,cd auto changer,alacantra seats,M Sport stuff etc.

I paid ~1300 quid for my 1992 W140 500SEL in 2018 iirc so 1.15% according to the msrp above. Despite all of my cars usually hovering around that absolute bottom of the depreciation curve I don't think any of them can beat that.
