Sure hope so! It's pretty miserable and grey right now.

Now in "the South", but far from deep enough yet!

Bristol airport could use a little bit more official parking judging by thousands of cars covering every horizontal surface around here. One car was disappearing into the weeds, naturally it was a JLR product.

A remarkable local landmark and feat of engineering and some old bridge.

Next leg of the journey completed, somehow ended up in Hogwarts.

An appropriate description of today's purchase.

Unfortunately our train to Exeter got cancelled, next train is 30mins later which means we are likely going to miss the connection. Ill have to check how you can claim back that cost considering it is a different operator (yet booked at the same time through LNER).

Now in Exeter, found the nicest Wetherspoon I've been to yet before boarding the next train.

The weather really matches the car's color today which is pleasantly nice.

Strange, no mention of the oddly high concentration of old chod around this particular area!

Meal consumed. For any shiters on their way to Tavistock, can highly recommend Clockwork Kitty in Okehampton, different menu every day and solely run by a very welcoming lady!

Here's the transport to our final destination then!

I think it's pretty clear at this point what we are going to take home tonight!

Ha, no! As @Back_For_More guessed, it is indeed the ex- @bramz7 now ex- @HMC Alfa 156 Sportwagon! It was great to meet you and wow, the car really goes way beyond what I expected. We've almost arrived in Bath where we'll stay for the night, a little more info then.

A few more photos, it's certainly a pretty looking car in person! Gabbiano Blue metallic and, very unexpectedly but very welcome, sporting a blue leather interior!

The return trip will take us over a day so plenty of time to get to know the car. We'll have a look around Bath tomorrow.

Being the JTD 5-cylinder 20V it pulls incredibly well once the turbo spools up, so well that I do agree that it could very much be chipped. Being an inline 5 it sounds incredible, too! Everything works aside from the steering wheel volume controls (the A/C blows cold as well), in general it's pretty clear that the pile of receipts that came with the car means that hardly anything on underneath will have seen the 160k miles the odometer indicates. 10/10, would travel half a day for again.

To be fair - @HMCdid mention it was going to you a short while back.... I only remembered as I wouldn't have minded this one myself. It hurt 😁

We know you'll do it proud - looking forward to seeing you go over this with the usual fine toothed comb.

Have a fantastic trip back up north..

Yeah, we'll see how it does on the way back. MOT expires in August so we'll get a chance to look underneath and see what the rust situation will look like relatively soon. If things aren't too terrible I'll have a list of things to improve ready. Actually looking forward to giving it a proper clean.
