As the title says shite emergency vehicles.

Norway is good at this and especially the fire service. All photos are newer than 2010 and vehicles was all active and in use when photo was taken.

The only policeman in an area in the north of Norway had an engine failure on his 15 year old 400,000km V70 police car and there was no money to fix it so he had to use his private car or bicycle. This sounds  incredible but is true so I am attaching a link to a news article about this, but it is in Norwegian.

I was in Bristol last autumn and saw a Mk2 Focus police car,  I think it was a 2010 60 plate.

Avon and Somerset seem to like hanging on to old cars which get used for officers to go out and take statements, listen to giffers complaining etc. My local nick growing up had a MK4 escort long after there were MK1 focuses doing the 'real work'

I suppose that makes sense right up to the point that the radio shouts 'please attend'.

I'm sure the old Focus will still cope, less sure about the Escort.

I think I remember Durham police having a marked up Proton TRIPLE VALVE for the "special constables" to use.

I tried and failed to find a picture of it, Humberside have had a LOT of Protons haven't they?  And they still look slightly less miserable than the Astra's

Police Service of Northern Ireland are still using Land Rover Tangis from the mid-late 1980s on a daily basis.

This one's from 1987.

They're apparently dreadful to drive; loads of armour plating but no power steering.

Going by the number I see on the back of recovery trucks, their reliability's not great either.

There were still a few Mk1 Mondeos and Vectra Bs in use as patrol cars until just a couple of years ago; now the fleet seems to be composed of newer Skoda Superbs and Kodiaqs though.

Yes they did, all 'panda' cars were lpg powered Protons 10 or 15 years ago. In fact until quite recently you could still see a few unmarked ones, stuffed full of uniformed cops - I guess used for secondary roles. Maple Garage of Sproatly supplied them and did the conversion to lpg.

Outside Skidby Windmill.

They now run Astras and Peugeots, which from my recent experiences of Stelantis products, gives the ne'er do wells a more than sporting chance of getting away.

The country that an indie Scotland aspires to be.

So little crime that areas only need one policeman and it doesn't really matter all that much if his car breaks?

Yes.

That looks really bleak (both the scenery and the LDV)

I think my briefly-owned Octavia Scout is creeping into shite territory.

250k on the clock. It was a touch rough in places. Bought for a £500 donation to a local blood bikes group my friend used to volunteer for. Ex Yorkshire Ambulance Service rapid response car. Sold 2 days later for a quick flip to a friend of @SmokinWaffles who I believe still has it, and it's still going! Half wish I'd kept it but it did need a fair bit of work, and for the driving I'd have used it for the DPF would've clogged in no time.

I spotted these yesterday; they're currently MOTed but I'm assuming were recently withdrawn from service - the two F450s had V5Cs issued last October.

Strangely one of the F450s is registered as an Explorer...

Assorted estate based ambulances, I'll plump for the Tatra when it comes to the inevitable.

They were in use when I was a support staff, I used to drive the unmarked ones with lovely brown and beige interiors 😂

We had a 3 door Satria GTI for prison collections (had to be 3 door) and we had a Gen-2 in Scunthorpe CID too, I quite liked it.

Seen in Rome, 2017. Both quite long in the tooth at the time. The Marea is/was a 20v.

Supposedly there is one Marea still in Polizia use in Rome. Earmarked for preservation too.

Great pursuit vehicle.

Milicja = what the Police were called before they became the Police.
