Hey, that looks great...I would get so much satisfaction from cleaning that up, sorting out the issues and getting it on the road.Top score. 8)

Posted

Bet that'll look pretty good once it's cleaned up. Good work!

Posted

Looks good as it is. Change the fluids, check the brakes, get it running, and stick it in for an MOT - the only other thing I'd do is perhaps vacuum the driver's seat...

Posted

That looks like a very rewarding project. You didnt A-frame it like that did you??

Posted

Finally! :)Looks good considering where it's come from! How long was it in the barn or wherever for?

Yes! It was dark though.

Last taxed in '99.

Looks ok under the clung, Tim. I'd imagine these aren't quite as slow as people think as they look pretty areodymanic?

Posted

Looks good for a free 'un. I'd imagine finding replacement seats & steering wheel won't be much of a ball-ache...lots of 924's in scrappys up & down the country.

Posted

Looks like it's not been messed with, try and find a local carwash that's having an "inside and out clean for £10" day and get your money's worth :D

Posted

Great work, Tim.Maybe it's just me, but I prefer the looks of these without a rear spoiler, like this one - a much cleaner shape.

Posted

Have these got the gearbox in the back like the 944?

Yep 8)

I'd love to clean this up. Again, pre-galvanisation, so look out for rust underneath! These are really nice handling cars.

That's an arse-shatteringly great freebie!!! WIN WIN WINI love the look of these with no 'performance' tack on crap - just clean* lines.Isn't this the one with Beetle swing arms or something at the rear and a van-derived engine?Solid gold shite - I'd happily roll in this.*yet covered in shite

Posted

Lots of Beetle 1302 suspension bits and no, it's not an LT van derived enegine. The 924 OHC unit was developed from the Audi 100 engine (OHV IIRC) and the LT Van engine used just the block and arrived a year after the 924.Looks utterly shite by the way! :D That is a valeters wankfest!

And the rear brakes are Beetle 1302 fronts I think.Get some work done and post up the photos! :D

Excellent!I am a +1 on perving over giving that a good clean & scrub. That would be an excellent way to spend some time.

Nice Freebie.... :D

That is a good looking free car.Has the chap got any more hidden away ?

Posted

I'm jealous! My favourite colour for a 924.

Posted

Cor, I'd love a soapy afternoon with that - keep it!I reckon that will clean up a treat. T-Cut and polishing mop at the ready I presume?

Posted

That's got a lot of potential and I'm sure it'll look great once it's clean and spider free. You really can't argue with a free 924.
