Went away biking last weekend and came (literally, I love this kind of shit) across this little lot. Thought it may be appreciated here so here you go.

Pedantic hat on, I think it’s a series 2

Whatever one it was I can confirm the newness had worn off the bulkhead and the chassis appeared to be doing that hinge in the middle thing.
They were all a long way off the beaten track and legend has it that the landy with its hand built hook had been used to get the others up there. First time I’d seen them all though know there was another series landrover in front of that one a few years back.

The owner of those two Landrovers seems to have a fetish for tow balls, check out the two on the front of the Disco and the weirdly mounted one on the top of the bumper on the Series II.

Handy for throwing a loop over and tugging on something?

Wouldn’t trust those balls on the front of the disco, bolted through the bumper 🤣

For those interested, I've done a little digging about and turned up some more information.  The vehicles and caravans once belonged to the Majic Theatre, which seems to have been a new age traveller type travelling theatre company.  They used to have a website; it's long gone now and the Wayback Machine has only archived the text and one photo, sadly:

he majic theatre was started in london in 1983 . the first show in april `83 at the `little majic moon theatre` , glenthorne rd, hammersmith after a period of intense artistic development following on from the successes of the `idiot ballroom` 1984 saw a tour of france in an old bedford bus ,that had been transformed after being gutted by fire, into a travelling theatre, completed by having a face sculpted onto the front of the bus by `joe the creator` of the mutoid waste company. the tour included bands - 012 and the nbsp; murphies plus garage theatre , altogether it was a groundbreaking affair . back in london , shows continued to develop , testing the boundaries of theatre and music . later in `84 a one-man theatre tour left for spain on a moped. . . back in the uk, glastonbury hosted the majic theatres ark. .. . . . . next up was the incredible `machine at the centre of the universe` , with the visit from the `mighty metal chicken from the east` . . . . . . following the end of the `little majic moon theatre` at the hammersmith yardiverse , shows were put on at many places and festivals .....including the big green gathering and the ross leopard, a ship moored on the thames , which houses a delightful performance space . the taxi had regular flights at the rainow circles camps and eventually did a dramatic flight into a `black hole` at the majic theatre`s taxi-circle at glastonbury festival 2005 . . . . . . . . . . .. the majic theatre has been singing and dancing . presenting shows of great complexity , great simplicity and great fun . . . . .. . . . . . . and for our next trick . . . . .

They seem to have been partial to a crummy vehicle, as many of us are.  The taxis were of some significance, apparently being going concerns as recently as 2005!  Amazing what time and nature can do to the work of man.

Here's a photo from the archived site showing the green and white cabs in happier times (2005, perhaps).

And thank you @Rustybullethole for the photos, very atmospheric and quite haunting.  It was a world some of us knew well.

Wow love this place that’s a great bit of info. Vehicles were all dragged up there on private land. Land owner not that bothered about it all good natured and kept selves to selves. Amongst it all there’s some interesting fungi lurking about this time of year. Allegedly.

I know one of the founders of the Majic Theatre and I'm pleased to say she's still travelling and performing at festivals these days in a converted library bus. I wonder how long they've been there, a lot of vehicles were abandoned after the Beanfield.

A placeholder quote from the long defunct website redirect for the Majic Theatre

Quote

but . . . . . . . .  i`ll tell you a bit about it . . . .we got a flying taxi  . . . we offer a journey to explore the furthest corners of the known universe and some of the unknown universe too . . . . . . the other one , that dos`nt exist in quantum reality . . . so go to the .org.uk address . . . .

or read some more of this guff stuff so as to dull your senses sufficient to arrive at a state of nirvana , where you may experience delight and wonder at the deep messages contained in this very theatre

That's rather sweet and a bit sad at the same time.

It reminds me of that funeral ‘delivery’ company that specialises in Landrover hearses called One Life, Lived it.
