Dnepr (formal name = KMZ-8.953) Motorcycles from the 'Honorary Escort' fleet of the USSR. They do look rather smart.

Can’t make up my mind if the guy standing up going to serve ice cream or start an Italian Village People tribute.

It would have to be a steep downhill to catch that Thames Trader speeding.

The only possible justification for that, is that it makes the criminals piss themselves laughing so they can’t run away!

Red Rock Cider advert circa 1990 - car was a proper mockup of the current Met livery and was stored down in Shepperton where it got admiring* glances from the drivers of A Series engined metros. Those really got the criminals laughing as they tooled around in their nicked SR1, XR2, XR3, XR4 etc etc etc

I have often wondered just how much piss you could take in that regard, as in what completely outlandish/abnormal vehicle, could you dress up as some sort of police car and pull someone over with? at what point would the generally public go "nah that cant be an actual police car" and just ignore it?

for example I know theres a couple times where genuine police taking a heritage car from point A to point B get caught up in something and genuinely has to act An Police Car

so yeah if you took that BMW Isetta out today, could you pull someone over with it, if ya stuck the blue light on? :)

along similar lines I know there is a story of someone in the USA with an British MGA Police car, and he got pulled over for impersonating a police officer, and there was a bit of scene brewing, till a deputy showed up and just applied some common sense along the lines "anyone who sees thats here in the USA knows its not actually an in-service cop car" and let the the MGA chap go on his merry way
