Curb weight for a MK2 Focus is 1640kg. Allegedly. So that's what I went by :)

Are you sure you're not getting mixed up with GVW?

Still, just to show that it can get worse they added comic sans font for the poxster.

What an absolute mess.

They fixed the font. Alternative colours and a blanking plate now available.

I never noticed that? I believe Skoda do too.

the vectra b also has different scales- 0 - 140 & 0 - 160 bearing in mind the 2.0 xev was quoted to top out at about 136

Anyone else feeling nostalgic for the waggy speedo on the 405?

Ran out of speedo a couple of times in my 657cc Suzuki Alto. Downhill with a tailwind of course. And it did over read by about 10%… we’ll call it 80mph!

I've been using a 22-plate Audi A3 today which is an ergonomic mess.

That’ll be the gross weight I reckon.  Kerb weight around 1,200ish kg?

I guess the 'Short-term memory' function is some clever* German technique to allow you to forget you have possession of an Audi A3 the moment you turn your back on the hateful thing.

I like this generation of Volkswagen and Audi cars. No-nonsense and easy to read.

Wasn't that everything French? "Monseuir's speed is somewhere between 20 and 40 of your English miles per heure"

I've spent the morning driving a new-shape Ford Kuga hybrid.

The digital readout renders the (also digital) speedo redundant, but nonetheless this has got to be one of the most ridiculous speedos ever...

..... I haven't 'run out' of grads on my Revcounter yet = I haven't the b#lls to 'take her up' 🤐

*allegedly, our Septic cousins have confidence "it doesn't properly rip 'til 6k".... I'll take that on advisement, being an inveterate IMPnutter 😉

Saw this thread and had to check the big Merc, but it's disappointingly sensible

Top speed according to Parkers is 146mph, speedo goes to 160mph, if we assume most speedos overread by ~10% then it might actually be possible to hit the top

I am not going to find out

Not sure I like '1/1' for a full tank of fuel though when just '1' would be fine
