Ebay Tat Volume 2 - Sadly deceased.

The V8 would surely be a lovely old bus and a great cruiser type car.

Agree with Mr B ref. the deposit on the Cortina by the way. Would also add it seems to make no difference at all saying 'X amount depaoit straight away' as no-one ever bothers complying in my experience.

How about you bell him, ask if you can have a look at it with av iew to buying it and mention you'll bring either a deposit or the full hit in money with you? If he's got anything about him he'll say yes and you could always play the 'take it off eBay, save yourself loads of money' card.

I've fired the Mk2 owner a load of questions and asked if i could just pay the full amount on arrival explaining that I've had a bad experience in the past, depending what he emails back i might go for it, The Cortina is one of the cars i ideally wanted even before i bought the 1602.

The green P6 Pete looked as if it had a big splater of weld on the inner wing on the near side, once those P6's get the worm they can be expensive to repair, when i test drove that white V8 last year i loved it but it was like driving a heavy boat, plus it's a auto, i'd sooner have a manual.

I'll see what happens with this Cortina.

i usually make contact straight after the auction ends and ask when i can pick up, give them my phone number and ask if they want some cash now or all on collection, 99% of sellers are happy that you have made contact and prefer all the cash in one lump. The deposit thing is just to weed out the loons who bid with no intention of paying.

Aaargh! That R5 is too tempting. Hopefully* the good write-up will attract bids and I will quickly be priced out.

Tidy, early Supercinq with decent advert in Worksop:

I went and had a look at this last night, needs a bit of paint here and there but I think I'm going to take a punt at it. Watch this space.

That 5 is exactly the same as the one my mate Alex had about 10 years back. It came to a sticky end on the day he moved out of home into his first flat. He managed to ram it hard into the back of his Mum's Almera in Brentwood High Street, writing both of them off. She was only there as she was helping him move his stuff into his flat.

When the police turned up he told them he hadn't noticed his Mum's car stop as he was eyeing up some girls at the bus stop.

Mr_B don't ever venture onto a Vectra forum EVAR. Tat's quite a reasoned Vectra owner reply.

Sounds like the guy who bought my Mk4 Escort recently, gets the train to mine from Plymouth, gives me £600 for it, drives all the way back then flogs it on ebay 2 weeks later for £100 less then he paid for it.

There's nowt as queer as folk.

^ Go for it Trig - you need Nicolette McKenzie in your life, if only to scare shit out of you by saying "LEFT REAR DOOR OPEN"

Rover- City Rover Shite - Red - 48500 miles 04 Reg

These are temptingly cheap

I just found out it is £190 a year to tax a CityRover. And they do about 35mpg too. No wonder they're so cheap to buy. Still, £443 for a relatively low-mileage 04-plate car in reasonable nick is cheap enough to compensate for the relatively expensive tax disc & fuel bills I reckon.

Wait until you encounter a group of them at a show somewhere. My sides were aching for days after the last one. Most of them appeared to be playing pocket snooker over some fucking hideous Vectra B with a stupid bodykit, wanly 'boot build' and best of tribal graphics with matching seat covers. It looked like sort of car a 72 year old paedo would park up outside a primary school in Rhyl in.

I dont think tha'tll get a welded diff and all the rest of it. It is the fuggin bollocks though (and probably unique), I might well have a dabble if the price stays 'reasonable'.

Now this is tempting, I nearly bought this 18 months ago when it was a non runner, covered in algae in someone's back garden. It needed a fair amount of bodywork (including a new back door) and the bloke wanted too much for it, so I walked away. Amazingly up until last year it had lived in the same road all its life, a couple of minutes from my place. Now it's on Ebay in Surrey, rubbish description but looking at the pictures I took at the time I think it's had a full respray and loads of bodywork, plus lots of tidying under the bonnet and inside the car with a set of new carpets. If it stays at £1500 it would be a nice addition to the 'fleet' I reckon.

A can't lose* business opportunity, Barrett where are you?

Unsurprisingly, you are not the first person to point this out to me! Already tentative plans for the BMC (Barrett Motor Company - may have to change that) are being hatched. You can expect quite literally 7 of those to roll out of the 'factory' next year before we are declared bankrupt after a costly lawsuit arising from a faulty suspension design....

These things are mega fugly, but someone recently had the bright idea to combine the back end of this with a normal Mini front end and sell the lot as a kit. Tt looks miles better, though none have actually been built (or even sold?) yet so it might be a while before we get to admire the results

Save this from the angle grinding/diff welding brigade...

I remember that being up for sale in Colchester about 3 years ago, the original owner was selling it at the time.

That must have been sat in that yard since then, the seller is that same guy who was selling that slammed Cortina Mk3 estate, this was in the back ground.

Yep, I went to see it when it was for sale in Colchester. It was a nice enough thing, but the owner wanted way more for it than I was prepared to pay given the amount of recommissioning it needed.

You should 'do a Tony Crook' here, Barrett. Knock a few up then refuse to sell them to people because they had the wrong coloured trousers or didn't live on a council estate.
