Me thinks perhaps he should have blanked the number plate off the tax disc. I can see the MOT station getting a visit from the friendly chaps at VOSA

its MOT exempt. same as the green goddesses and any other commercial before some point in the 60s

Incidentally I assume Malta joining the EU now makes it easier to export old motors from there; I seem to recall (in old Your Classic articles) it was a bitch in the old days.

 

Funnily enough I saw about half a dozen Maltese-registered Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts in the large compound next to Purple Parking's Heathrow facility a couple of months back.

And your telling me that it was driven to the mot station in July, I think not, especially as it also states that it's not been seen since the early 90's, Very dodgy.

what MOT station? its just a form you fill in, V112G, you need to present it every time you re-tax. hence them both expiring at the same time.

414k on a hack that age is nothing. I've known 7 figure mileages on the Nissan 2.7 engined ones before. Why this engine isn't transplanted into Land Rovers is a mystery to me.

M&D Engineering offers a conversion kit for the Nissan TD27, though I've never heard of one converted.

LTI only replaced 6 Nissan engines under warranty in all the time they were using that engine.

:roll: That's depressing. All that's gone wrong with it is a flat battery after being left idle for well over a year, and a couple of age-related sundry electrical issues.

I have asked a question about this vehicle, if the vendor knows his WRC Foci I hope he has the audacity to tell a little white lie about it... I'll let you know if I get a reply!

 

Edit: I'd asked if they were US spec bumpers - the WRC cars had them as they're longer than the EU ones - and got a reply,

Ok, pretty obscure, but if I wanted to buy a WRC replica Focus, it'd need the correct bumpers... (As well as being a 3-door.)
