Have we had this winner-mobile yet?

Sorry to be the in-house anarok but those bloody seats, wheels and the non-standard engine annoy me quite a bit.

That's fine, the wheels looks incredibly stupid and the whole 'redtop' thing just annoys me anyway. Add to that list the bodykit and absurd exhaust opening on the bumper and I'm about ready to smash my PC screen. I don't think the seats look too bad though, considering the severe lack to taste shown on the rest of the car

The gash bodykit is one of the things that makes it a Calibre or whatever they were called.

When I see such an abuse of the English language, I seriously worry about the future of this country. :(

why hate the motor ? It's a sweet engine that makes handy power, probably about 20bhp more than the factory 8valve.

Because it's the OMG RED TOP OMG lump. It's popular and not terrible, which is enough of a reason for lots of Autoshiteists to hate something.

Don't get me wrong I love those engines, it's just that from a nerdy/purist point of view that Calibre should be left standard. The standard body kit is just perfect (to a sad bastard like me) and also it should have the standard fit recaros, not whatever he's lobbed in it.

Whole can of worms like but cars like that should be left standard.

I think those Calibre things looks rubbish!

I'd love a Mk2 Cavalier, defo not a Calibre though cos they look silly.

I never knew that the Calibre was a special edition. I just thought it was a bodykit people bought and put on.

Because of this, at the time I thought it looked a bit crap. However looking at it now I quite like it. Not adverse to engine changes either. Why not. Am looking on my phone and can't see the difference with the body kit but what does annoy me is the fact that they are selling a car for 2,400 and can't be arsed sorting out the alternator. And only 2 months Mot. Lazy. For that price sort it out and sell with a full mot.

Possibly because it's rotted like hell under the kit, a common problem on these. There was a replica kit for these which would possibly explain why there seems to be loads of them about at one time. The 'proper' ones says 'Calibre i' on the log book.

I have just noticed the rear windows too. They really do look whack. Whenever I see a car with the rear windows blacked out I have to wonder how ugly their children must be.

Cooler than a penguins plonker

my wifes just come on and threatened with a carving knife
no swaps for camel monkeys or afghan wasp pigs

engine is seized and the car is rotten usal avenger bits like sills wheel arches jaking points been sitting up for a good few years

front inner wings have been welded as you can see in the pics and the wings are rotten and the dash is missing

Sounds like a mess...

the seats are in good condition

... but thats a relief

starting at what i paid for it

Yeah, there's got to be a profit in this!

Its a reasonable idea, sadly in this case the execution lets it down, that looks SHAT!

With a Williams engine that would be a complete riot to drive, but dear God does it look bad

Am I the only one thinking that Volvo's had a front-end prang and the mk3 Golf stuff was a convenient way of replacing the bumper, lights etc. because they couldn't find volvo stuff? Or is it just an attempt to be different?

Posted

It's a good attempt

To be different, that is..
