ANPR would pick up that the car is taxed, even without a valid disc. I think if you do get caught, you would only get done for 'failure to display' rather than anything more serious, I ran my car with out a valid disc for months, as mine went missing in the post, passed loads of DVLA checkpoints and Police ANPR without an issue. My new insurer emailed me all the docs so I can tax the car, will your's not do the same?

Presumably that Opel has gone up in price, and shown with some bits of trim missing, cos it has been resprayed? The paint looks much better now.

Yes It's now been resprayed since it was last for sale, There is a photo with it's handles all fitted, Still I don't think the seller has added the best photos if he wants a sale.

We are insured through a broker who is shut on weekends which causes a few problems, I guess i could take a new policy out with another company, get the paperwork emailed to me, Print it off some how (No working printer ATM), Drive the 140 miles there, get it taxed and drive it back then cancel the new policy as you have a 14 day cooling off period but that's too much fucking about.

It's best i leave it and just get something with a bit of tax left.

I'd just tax online and drive it. Yes, in theory you could get fined £2000 for failure to display, but as mentioned, an ANPR check will show the car as taxed. Or, as you say, wait for something else that fits the bill. Still lots of choice out there.

I wouldnt think twice about driving round without a disc if I knew the car was taxed online, whens the last time a copper actually looked at a tax disc? Got to be 5 or 6 years, now they let their cameras do it for them while they sit there eating fucking doughnuts and complaining about their overtime/pension etc.

This has made me smile :D Anyway, love the look of this and seriously would get it if it wasn't in the home of Road Wars:

Bargain alert! MK1 Metro with MOT until January for £295 BIN. I like how he's already had two questions asking him if he will "tak any lower m8"

Erm, second question was mine, I was angling at the chance of meeting in the middle of the for sale price and the price minus ebay fees, but I've sobered up now!

This looks like fun, Only 46000 miles, years MOT and basically a R19 16v but with full leather and 1 lady owner, @ £650 BIN It looks quite the bargain.

Hmm... Im thinking about buying this but it's a long way from me, trouble is that it has no road tax so i can't get it back.

The owner has said i could tax it online but without a valid disc in the window it's still classed as untaxed, And i wouldn't be able to get a insurance cover note for a few days at least so i couldn't get tax from the post office.

And the owners away from Wed to Mon. Arse.

I' really starting to like sporty mid-90s Reanults but pre-facelift 19s especially. I think they rust a bit tho.

Jeepers, that won't be around for long. Two door as well, what's the betting it'll end up as a Lotus or GT rep and the price will be increased at least four fold?

1.3!!!! Now thats what i'm talking about. Looks lovely! I really appreciate an unmolested one of these. What it needs* is an RS turbo lump with the boost cranked yo, a shitty quad headlamp conversion, 'motorsport' sunstrip and some bargain bucket multifit wheels. Pop it on an old cover of 'Fast car' next to some cross-looking teenage bint with massive jugs then weigh it straight in. WIN!

That's on my door step as well!

Why don't you go for it Trig? That could be the bargain of the century!

'bet that cortina ends up on ebay within the space of a week for £5k or something.

I was thinking long and hard about it last night but i have a family christening where i am a godfather today so i wouldn't had time to get there and look at it sadly.

This looks a bit of an oddity - one for Barrett?

Mmm, that's lovely! It might also be of interest to a certain Hillman Minx owning London resident as Goliath were part of the Borgward group when that was built. Goliath's were a follow on from the old German Lloyd but with typical Borgward build quality, and they later became Hansas. I reckon they are one of the most balanced and attractive German economy cars, and that should be a lovely and incredibly rare little thing when it's done.
