Careful now, lets try to keep things friendly!

Norm, In the U.K they have to "stretch" tractor units for people who cannot handle articulated trucks. Normally bus drivers ;).

ERF EC11s also had American Cummins engines too. Best of the bunch the mechanics kept telling me!

And I thought you were my friend Tim... I mean you followed me here from the VOC...! Seriously: I was offered a crack at Class 1 after I passed my 2, but decided not to. I didn't want the nights-away when I could be in my nice warm bed with my nice warm wife...

I'm right! I'm right! I'm right! Fuck you all, I'M RIGHT!.

FD, could you explain to me what your problem with Norm is please? This is a serious request, and I'm not having a go. I think you're mistaking eccentricity for something else. I've never fully understood Mr Murdock's humour either, but we are on different sides of the Atlantic.

TB has some serious kit which I thought you'd appreciate, what with you trying to save those OSFs from the Scrappage scheme. He hasn't been forthcoming with the pictures I admit, but has anyone actually asked him? Or have they just spouted abuse and assumed a great deal?

From what I can remember, Norm has one of the few remaining Ferguson FF Capris and one of the RS2600s that took part at Le Mans.

Your 20V Coupe was fit by the way. Not sure why you'd chop one in for a 500 Abarth, but horses for courses eh?

No worries wat, firstly the quote was not me!

He has been asked many times for pics of his cars, here and retro rides, the same retro rides that he slags of on here, but still goes on.

His posts are mostly ill informed american slanted political tripe .

If the clique can't take a bit grief then don't give it out.

btw i traded the 20v turbo for an Abarth grande s.s the Abarth 500 is the wifes,i am going to see a barnfind colt celeste sometime this week if the seller and i can get it arranged, the car will be for sale if bought, maybe though i should post the story on a car forum though?

This forum was a good place for years, but the newbies.......

I think the Citroen main dealer here in Peterboghorror is owned by a Mr Robin Bastard.

Had a look at a mate's Picasso today as the driver's window wouldn't work.Stripped the door down to find a knackered cable all frayed and jambed up.Took the regulator out and there are three screws holding the motor on.It was a case of unwinding the spool and hooking the cable out,all fairly straight-forward.The problem was the shorter of the two cables so I phoned the main-stealer parts department."Oh,no sir,we only stock the complete unit" I told him it was just a short (2 feet long) cable that slots in much like a push-bike brake cable."We don't sell cables,no one does, you need the whole unit" oh well and how much is this regulator unit then....190 quid plus vat....Fark me is that all four windows ? Nope just for one...Robin Bastard indeed.

Oh fuck! A Royal wedding next year.

Oh fuck! A Royal wedding next year.

Let's organise an Autoshite day trip somewhere then! My dad went poaching on Princess Anne's wedding day, because he knew the chance of being caught was highly reduced.

eddy thats the earliest series 2 i have seen for a long time !

It was registered on June 27th 1978, which was the day after I passed my car test; I rescued it from scrap in the autumn of 86, used it for a while, then scrapped it finally in 1988. For anyone who can't read the number plate, that's PKC 100S. Some years later I was chatting with a workmate and she let slip that she had a 127 she wished she'd never sold, it was that good. It was the only car she had ever remembered by number, and it was PKC 99S. I told her about my Supermirafiori, obviously.

Who are you on the VOC forum then??

Having a class 1 licence basically means the same or slightly higher money, more nights away BUT makes finding a job easier plus the type of work tends to be less stress I.E less MULTIDROP! If you gat a cushy number on a class 2 then theres no point having a first class licence.

Same name, eddyramrod; I haven't visited VOC for some time though, not least because I no longer have a Volvo! :( That's only accidental, it's possible I'll have another one sooner or later. In fact a while ago a Cypriot mentioned a 245 automatic, in need of some tlc, that might have been available at a suitable price, so I should find him again and at least see it. Oh-oh, another project, I can see Mrs Ramrod wanting a lift to the airport already!

You can have my 940 turbo cheap if you want it!!

Thank'ee kindly zurr, but it's a bit of a walk to fetch it... besides, from memory, wasn't it a diy-gearbox model, that you have to stir yourself? That automatically (sorry  ) puts it out of the running for me even if geography didn't. But I did think the price was right, I'm amazed you still have it.

2000 miles to get home would be a pretty good shakedown though...

Put the kettle on, I'm on my way... :D

I wish!

SWMBO has given me my orders: no more shite until a) I sell one of the existing fleet or B) we move house; preferably c) both! We are definitely moving, which I hate. Our contract is up on this house in April, and now we can see there are more suitable houses available at cheaper rents. Mrs Ramrod doesn't see "covered parking for four cars" as quite the high-priority item I do...

Front wheel bearing on a Nissan 200SX S14 (RWD). Seems the race is machined into the hub itself so the whole lot needs changing and Mr Nissan only sells it as a complete unit, including upright @ £200+VAT. Oh and all the used bearings are snapped up by the S13 boys to convert to 5-stud (which is what I'm doing so shouldn't really complain) meaning noone will split a pair/car set. Grrrr.

Charity Muggers, bad enough the ones at the door wanting a fiver a month for somewhere we already piss away 9 billion a year in aid on but

Yep no "dumpster diving" here... we even lock up rubbish and god forbid the Health and Safety police saw you taking a bit of cardboard to recycle...

I just add it onto the price.

We'd rather send cardboard to China to be recycled back into cardboard, got to keep those ships moving. 8)

Autoshite will be good for this, I doubt many other forums would tolerate it.

Children In Need, basically the whole event from start to finish. I just don't enjoy people doing daft things for money, though I think it's a bit pathetic that people feel the need to see someone take a bath in baked beans before forking out for anything. I'm incredibly uncharitable to begin with, so it's not going to persuade me either way. Plus the whole thing is controlled by a very expensive admin operation which I understand soaks up a fair few million of donations in itself. No doubt there'll be some kind of lousy work tie-in, wherein you have to pay two quid to turn up to work in "casual wear", which I won't. And someone will whinge at me because I don't want to put two quid in the pot anyway, but I'll go out for my lunch and be confronted by tin rattling students in those stupid bloody tabbards, who'll give me more hassle. Just sod off!
