RCIA phonograph input - boosts the level, cuts the bass. You can do this by adjusting the volume and EQ on the amplifier if you haven't got a dedicated input.

Tape with ZZ top one side, marillion on the other? I'm going to guess 1983.

What I use is a 21mm spark plug socket which handily has a 21mm hex on the outside as well as a half inch drive - 7mm Allen key through the middle with a 3/8 extension on the end for leverage

Or.... seeing as its late on a Friday evening and you've fixed the broken spring on the other side and you're only changing this side because the owner wants a pair of even springs...... stick it back on the car and tell him that it will need another leg should he ever break the nearside spring

I've used the plug socket trick as well as lambda socket too, Rattle gun, oil, heat, oil, swearing etc wouldn't shift it

I put an empty 20 litre plastic drum in the back of the pickup and stopped at the pez station on the way to a job so I could get petrol for strimmers etc.

Filled it up, went in, paid, left. All very normal.

It wasnt until about 2 hours later when I needed to refuel a rotovator that I realised I had left the fucking drum of pez on the forecourt.

Verdict - Idiot. Or potential early Alzheimers sufferer, since I seem to be doing shit like this more and more often.

1985. Misplaced Childhood and Eliminator is my guess.

The singles from Eliminator didn't really bother the UK charts until the end of 1984.

a bit later than that, Marillion was Holidays in Eden from according to google 1991, and ZZ Top was, i think the greatest hits from 1992, again from google.

both of which means that i am indeed old!!

I've been looking for a particular family friendly car to replace Missus's Fiesta. I've watched a few go through BCA at about £1000 over CAP clean money, which after fees and collection meant it really didn't stack up. There was a privately advertised example bout 45 minutes drive from work that was advertised for weeks at far too much money (about £1000 more than CarGiant were offering them for) but with good additional spec. I made the guy an offer which equated to £500 more than trade-in price, and £500 less than I could buy from a car supermarket.

He accepted, I travelled down one evening and viewed and we shook hands on the deal. He refused to take a deposit however, but seemed a proper stand-on guy. He told me I'd have to wait 10 days as he was getting a replacement car. A bit of a PITA, but he stayed in contact and we made arrangements for me to collect yesterday and confirmed Thursday and at 11.00 yesterday morning. 1 hour before I'm due to be leaving, with lift arranged, he text me to say 'sorry, just got a better price elsewhere'. What a waste of time and effort, the fucking cretin.

What a grade one turd necker. I bet he wouldn't take a deposit as he was stalling for more money elsewhere. Is it still advertised? I'll ring him and offer another grand if you want.

Sad news. Problem with using a vehicle as a weapon is that it's almost impossible to defend against

Probably best wait for more information to come out before drawing conclusions.

Some other dilbert just messaged me about the welder with just "80" what is wrong with some folk. Not even being able to write a sentence.

About London, I've just watched the statement released by Scotland Yard. When asked by reporters if it's over he refused to speculate. Can read that how you will but apparently it's worse than news is showing.

How many Christians killed by Muslims? A few hundred in recent years, how many Muslims killed by christians? Tens of thousands in recent years.

What does it mean? - Religion is a good excuse for arseholes to claim a reason for their being arseholes. As usual some poor innocent bugger has suffered due to arseholes of one religion or another.

Just hope the damage is minimal and no one else dies as result of yet another pointless abhorrent attack.

Horrible. No excuse at all for it, it's evil pure and simple.

One question though, how is it that an asian is automatically an islamist, but a biffer shoots an MP and stabs two people and he's a lone nutcase?

5.30, 8 hours into working, I'm in photoshop and haven't saved my PSD's all day (stupid).

Windows brings up 'I want to restart', I click 'restart later'. I turn my back for a second, and windows frigging restarts later - about 1 minute later. WTF. Lost a day's work!

That's what happens when you use the "Make offer" function on Gumtree. It just sends the number. I had stuff advertised for £500 and had an email conversation along the lines of,

"300."

"800."

"It's advertised for £500??????"

"The extra 300 is for people who can't be arsed engaging in a discussion or explaining why their offer is low and consider just emailng a number is a reasonable means of communication. Or doesn't your keyboard have letters?"

The chap then explained he'd used the offer system and apologised if it appeared rude, but it was Gumtree's fault.

He ended up buying it and while it pisses me off, I remember I've used the "send offer" button too.
