Had a weird call from the guy doing my car yesterday. It was a 'non call' sort of thing told me nothing really but the couple of things he did say worried me to death.

It was very strange. Wonder if he was just ringing so I know he's actually working on my car?

Sorry about your dough Bub, they gonna sort it?

Honestly do t know. I've been looking for work for nearly a year but finding it hard. Bad days outweigh the good, even more so after crash and been told I haven't got enough points made to warrent my pip. Oh well such is life

Insurance says I can claim for tile damage provided I don't mind paying £250 excess, £150 voluntary excess, and losing 2 years NCB and accepting it as a fault claim.....

Fuck that. One silver wing located on a scrapper in Doncaster and on its way to me for £60 delivered. Fingers crossed it is actually the right part for the right car in the right colour. Despite assurances from the lady I just have a feeling I will be back next week effing and blinding about some cock up somewhere....

Driving home from Coventry last night, I fell asleep at the wheel on the A127 and crashed into a coned off section of roadworks.

Yep, entirely my fault. I'd been driving for most of the day and was really tired, yet decided to push on for home instead of pulling over for a nap.

I now have a fist-sized dent in the Somerset's wing (must have been the light on one of the cones I hit) to go with all the others that were on it when I bought the car.

Lesson learnt! Don't drive tired :( Fortunately, there were no other cars around and no one was working there at the time.

WHAT?!?

No way, Daz - appeal that.  Shout if you need a hand.

Yeah, contest it straight away. They will do a "mandatory reconsideration" where the same people look at the same evidence and come to the same conclusion but when they are done with that you can appeal, and present new evidence.

Oh dear. Glad you're ok. You weren't by any chance driving north up the m40 on Tuesday morning? Saw one on the opposite carriageway as I was driving south. Made my attention as you don't see many.

Thanks chaseracer and SOC. They are ringing me back in the morning. They said I can bend to touch toes and stand up for prolonged periods unaided as shown at the meeting. Thing is they didn't ask me to bend over nor stand up. Also said I can't have anxiety and depression because I don't take medication for it. I'm on enough medication already!

Angry ducky, shame to hear of your off. Could be a lot worse though! I've never drove tired but have rode a bike tired. I fell off. Never again!

dickheads, you may wish to remind them that the definition of disability under the disability rights act is how able you are WITHOUT medication, they cannot force you to take medication you do not wish to. If I can help in any way give me a shout.

Accident that closed one of only two ways out of the city centre, and the other way is down to one lane thanks to roundabout alterations that will tkae the best part of a year. As a result, a journey that normally takes me 20 minutes took two and a half hours. Then I found the ebay item I sent the other day arrived opened, thanks to a light fingered postie, so will have to refund that as well.

the EU has made damn sure that fook all can be done anyway, and so another industry will fade away.

Conservative, Labour, the other lot, they are all the same. cheats, gobshites, liars and arseholes.

More completely inaccurate throwaway anti-EU bollox. The European Commission have been looking at increasing the import duty on cheap chinese steel to help european steel producers. Who torpedoed that do you think?

To be honest I don't like being on benefits,I want to work. Can't discriminate against prospective employees my arse. Be honest on an application form and hear nothing back, thin out the truth a little and get in Shit for lying on application forms. No assistance at jobcenter anymore. Without pip I can't have a car and run a house. So therefore car must go. Which in turn don't help depression being stuck in four walls as I can't walk too far. Also don't like catching bus as it may sound stupid but hate being crowded and can feel awkward with people I don't really know.

For a fair part of that stupid traffic jam yesterday I was behind this RRS whose driver was finding it very difficult to stay in a straight line. Obviously too busy updating her Twitter to be paying attention to the road. So it was only a matter of time before she bumped the car in front of her

After what seems like an age I have managed to get a combination of not pissing down with rain and a free morning to crack on with the last arch on the Capri. Three hours in I gave up, I think I manage about half an hour to an hours real work due to welder playing silly buggers. It does it sometimes for a reason known only to itself. The new arch is on but will need another half days work on it. Pissed off.

That is appalling, I hope you offered a copy of the vid to the driver?

Looks like the FFRR driving woman who rammed my stationary Jag on the M42. She appeared to be using it as a mobile office and was presumably concerned that looking out of any of the windows would be career limiting. She wasn't the least bothered or apologetic.

I like the song, shame about the choice of car to burn

Looks like someone had taken the displacers, so all is not lost...

Have to be honest, I didn't stop. I thought about it but as there were no injuries and they were exchanging details I didn't think it was needed. Plus I was in a foul mood having spent the best part of 2 hours driving 5 miles so just wanted to get home. On reflection I wonder if she'd been drinking. Worth sending the link to the local plod maybe?

Been and seen the guy doing the dollops bodywork. Seems to be doing a good job, but fuck me, he just doesn't inspire confidence! He is a really negative sort of bloke and it is worrying me. Ho hum....

Went and got some more Waxoyl from Halfords (black this time) as the clear stuff I put on the sills has gone a manky colour and looks, for all the world like rust! The clear wax has gone a reddy brown and was doing my swede so I sprayed the edges of the sill in Halfords car park - better the drips on their tarmac than outside my gaff where all the neighbours whinge....

Then took the dogs out and they had a great time and best of all, they stayed clean (a first in recent months) until... I got Phoebe back in the car and turned to look for fat useless bastard and there he was, ankles deep in a muddy puddle drinking the slop at the bottom! He really is a berk of the first order and of course, he was filthy which he then liberally sprayed all round the car!

Please don't use waxoyl as it's pants, something like Dynax would be far more fitting!

It was only to cover up the outside of the sills right on the lip/edge/return at the very bottom. Halfords don't sell anything decent and neither does anyone else local (I think). I only saw it yesterday so it had to be done today as it was already sending my ocd into overdrive!

I see so much of that in Essex. Generally I have learned to stay out of the way of blinged up Rangies and Ford Galaxy people carriers with "Addison Lee" on the back as you have no frigging idea of what they are going to do next.

that video just shows the standard of driving that is about par for the course for a range roony?

got back home this evening, the jaguar hasn't missed a beat all week, only to find that the alarm sounder isn't doing its chirp when the doors are locked/car alarmed.

bugger, it was working fine earlier!!

need to check the fuses when i get the the FiL's tomorrow (there are 4 fuse boxes....) failing that, i'm going to look at changing the drivers window motor cos that is terrible slow to wind back up. and a quick search on t'interweb implies that if the car isn't, or doesn't know that the window is closed properly then the alarm thing won't set.

bloody cars!!!

can i lease* a nice* aldi instead?

You could if any such thing had ever been built, but it hasn't, so you're safe.

Meanwhile, the hot thread action on here tonight!  There's stuff I'm supposed to be doing, such as writing a column, and reading the instructions for my lovely new dashcam, but instead, I'm constantly having to read the latest postings because the quality and quantity are so high!
