The grumpy thread

Spent most of Saturday scrounging up a decent trolley jack, axle stands and star sockets. Then lying on the floor in torrential rain, hail and thunder and lightening, for two hours to access then remove the Crank Position Sensor on my Chrysler. Only to find the replacement, supplied by Chrysler main dealer using chassis number is different!

My,how I laughed when I had to put the old one back in to move the car as it's blocking others.

In good news I took it back, went to Merc dealer this morning with part number off the old one- 'Yes sir ,they're in stock-£33.00' the wrong Chrysler one was £145- I've said it before and I'll say it again Chrysler are Cunts.

Hey, I watch football (occasionally) and go binge drinking pretty much every Saturday night. There's plenty of fun in it, believe me!

Sent my dad to scout an Astra Estate today.

Not used it since September apparently, just got a van, so that's why the inside of the Astra looks like a shit hole then after you've used it as a van, all the interior panels ripped/broken and headlining torn etc.  Only one key (new one's only £45 he says so why not buy one?) tax is out in 3 days, rust spots all round, rear bumper hand painted, needs 4 new tyres, not bothered with the timing belt -90k, load that pistol and cock the trigger...   £1950.00

The other day when it looked like I needed to spend £1k on the SEAT it was very seriously suggested to me that it would be more sensible to scrap my otherwise working '04 plate car 'because its old and not worth much' and borrow £5k or something and buy a couple of year old Fabia 1.2 because it would be reliable and cheap to run. Sometimes I despair. I really do.

Aye.

In the past six weeks, the Blingo has had 800 sheets spent on it. Should be good for another 103000 miles now*...  ^_^

* Other possible outcomes are available - and, frankly, not unlikely...

Modern technology; Fuck. Right. Off.

Just watching a massive bargain ending on ebay as I was taking the missus to work. Entered a bid amount on my phone and sat there for 20 mins. Bid at the death and it'd timed out. Desperately tried again and missed the end of the listing. had I been at home on my pc I'd have been in with a fighting chance, stupid bastard twat mobile bastard phone.

I missed out on a straight six 72 chevelle sedan 5-6 years ago by a tenner. Final bid £1510......still pisses me off now.

I missed out on a £129 AVRCP/BT/USB module for my Focus today for £53 because my phone dingled to tell me that the auction I was watching, had been outbid on but was still interested in..... ended four hours previously. Thanks for that.

It's partly my own fault of course, I could have taken my tablet computer with me and done it on there which probably would have worked, but I couldn't be arsed! It was a £1500 (new cost) item that I could have had for £400 and almost certainly knocked out for £800 without too much of a struggle. Oh well, some you win and all that.

Or you could have used one of the snipe websites.

I can't be arsed with them, Dugong. The idea of giving them my username and password for my ebay account just doesn't sit right with me, to be honest. There will be others, sometimes things happen for a reason and I've cheered myself up by buying something else instead!

I once lost out on an epic bargain, exactly what mercifully forgotten, because the fucking microwave knocks out the wifi.

I've lost count of the number of long slow downloads I've accidentally killed by forgetting not to use the microwave.

That reminds me of the time I missed out on a very rare 1/24 model Rover Sterling. I'd been the highest bidder on this model until I got sent out to buy some tinned carrots or summat for dinner, my phone wasn't much good at doing internet, it wasn't until I got home that I'd noticed that I'd been outbid and lost the auction at £276. The seller only lived around the corner too. Still pisses me off now.

Yep, I bid to about £270. I knew how rare it was (only 100 ever made) and knew I could afford it (when I had money to chuck about) but obviously, someone with even more money, a bit more time and had not been sent out for a tin of bloody carrots whilst the bidding was ending obviously knew the same too.

Lost my alarm fob - found out how to reprogram it, but needed a fob. One on ebay - bidded it up, got sniped at last second.

Sent a message to the winner if he'd sell it to me - he said no ... and then said he didn't even need it anyway.

You'd buy a real one for less.

If you looked really hard you could probably buy 24 1:1 scale Rover 800s for TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SIX POUNDS.  Jeez, I wouldn't even pay that for a model Princess with opening doors.

I once spent £16 on a 1:18 Morris Minor and I felt like the sultan of Brunei.

Is it ever going to stop bastard raining? Seems to have been blowing horizintal rain into the end wall of my house for about 2 fuppin months now.

four and a half hours later, obviously soo busy in meeting and work that you've got time to post numerous comments and "wacky" stuff on facebook.

Then ny fuckin chair collapsed today, weld in base just broke tipping me sideways off of it.hitting my very sore hip on corner of oak desk on way down.

Quite a few brand new swear words were invented.

can hardly put weight on it at moment, and have only got a wooden kitchen chair with a couple of large pillows to sit on till i get swivel chair fixed/replaced.

Last night I dreamt that I remembered I had a Mk4 Cortina sitting in someone's garden, where it had been for about 10 years. After wiping off enough moss to reveal unblemished, bright orange paint, I drove it to the MOT garage, where it passed with no advisories. I queried the fact that the brakes were slightly seized, upon which the tester informed me cheerfully that it didn't matter, as the seatbelts were working fine. All the mechanics were looking at it with jealousy, and only then did I look at it cloesly enough to realise it had a factory turbo, coilovers and Sierra Cosworth alloys.

My grump is that I woke up at that point, and it wasn't real.

There seems to be something wrong with my £70 smartphone. It cannot compute HOW MANY HUNDREDS AND HOW MANY POUNDS FOR A TOY CAR?

Bzzzt GOTO 4. Retry? Y/n?

Carried tools and metal bits for the red Princess doors outside to get on with adjusting and rebuilding.  Got as far as organising everything before this stupid stomach bug I've got made me want to barf everywhere so I came back inside.  It was also bastarding cold and I kept dropping stuff because my fingers were numb.  Really frustrating as I just want to get these doors sorted now so I can do the other minor jobs on the car.  At least the weather is staying out of the cabin and nothing is getting damp in there.

Dust. I'm spending the day cleaning up and I've found an old lamp buried in a cupboard. It's so dusty it looks like it's been under water for 30 years. I need a maid.
