I honestly wouldn't know how to value it but taking a rough guess I'd value it at about 40-50% of the cost of a tired but MOTd GS as long as you included the (very decent) repair panels. Alternatively you could take up the kind offer of free storage and either learn to weld or, when times are a bit better financially, use it as a donor for a LHD import. The main areas of corrosion are in reasonably easy places to attend to so it might be worth having a crack at it yourself.

 

Obviously if it was mine I'd No Nails the repair panel on, get a L.G.B.T MOT and run it as it is.

2 weeks of Citalopram then 5 days ago I knocked it on the head, been the strangest encounter with the stuff yet, had a "coming up" feeling the whole time which was interesting, also a funny head and tight jaw.

 

Anyways doc signed me off for 2 further weeks but I decided to man up and find out what was going on with my job..

 

Today I worked my first shift since my little melt down and am scheduled for the rest of week. yay.

 

So I'm pleased to have a job, have 2 weeks of £60 in my pay packet which will really fuck Christmas up, especially with my MG costing so much!

Nah, it just makes it harder to get, erm, hard. It's a common side effect for SSRIs.

Citalopram has an annoying habit of giving you a stiff jaw and a stiff nothing else.  I do not like it.  It also made me feel like I was constantly going to be nearly happy but not quite.  It's not a pleasant dru... I've just noticed the National Express logo is two Ns! How have I never seen that before?

I never had that kind of problem with citalopram...it just took longer for..um..events to reach their conclusion. however, everyone is different and what is ok for one is no good for someone else. I think 2 weeks is way too soon to quit on them though, they take that long to have any positive effect.

Found an American website selling NOS gunwale sections that I need to finish my ski resto.

Prices are crazily cheap.

 

One downside is it seems not to have been updated since 2001.

 

The odd thing about that is my particular model was discontinued in 2009, so eight years prior to that, the parts would not have been any cheaper than RRP.

 

In most places, they barely are now, TBH.

Fucking Meriva.

 

Investigated te squaling noise, the rear passenger brakes had locked on. The caliper looks ok, but the outside pad was down to metal, inner pad was fine (18 month old pads, I did then the day after my daughter was born, then went to hospital with black fingernails...)

 

So I thought fuck it, new discs and pads for the reat, £38 from euro car parts. Do it properly I thought.

 

However the bolts that hold the carrier assembly on will not budge. So I moved the caliepr piston in and out a bit, and cleaned the pad carriers up and it seems to be working. I either need to buy some omgvoxallstarbolt sockets or take it to my friendly indy, get him to crack the bolts for me and then I'll have another go.

 

Or, I'll put the discs in the garage for 'another day', and find them in 3 years when the meriva is long gone and bin them as we wont have another car that they will fit...

 

Then the front dropings need replacing as their banging about something chronic. Not looking forward to doing that, havent even started finding the parts, gaitors, bushes and whatever else I need for it.

 

I'll do all that and then the cambelt will shit itself writing the engine off I bet...MONEYPIT

I do agree and sympathise. Been trying to get a part time job myself to help out with the finances. Nothing even remotely do able has been offered so far. Lots of ' commission only ' bollocks, but nothing that actually pays fair money for a fair days labour. Ho Hum.
