College? Taxi driver?

:-)

Sadly yes, apparently they teach you how to mediate with difficult punters and let the thought of someone doing a runner go over your head and simply let them go. Some fucking hope though, a blast in the eyes with Jif lemon with jalapeño juice and a swift clip round the ear with a BFO spanner has never failed yet so I can't really see the converting me to the caring, pragmatic sort of person they want driving a taxi.

I have been unable to make posts in the ebay tat thread since the end of November, for some reason I am no longer able to cut and paste links and photographs from there to here (It used to come up with a message asking if I wanted to allow access to my clipboard, it doesn't anymore), nor  can I quote posts on here. When I try to upload photographs on here, from my pc, it does not show them in preview, but does sometimes come up in the post (with a big attached images label), so this makes it difficult/impossible to put text/pic/text/pic. Whilst this is good for everyone else on here, I would like to get back to posting mindless drivel so need some help.

Now as far as I am aware I have not changed any settings on my laptop, although I am fairly illiterate with such things, it runs windows explorer 11 browser (as I have discovered), any sensible ideas what I need to do to sort it out?

I'd post a screen shot to show the problem but can't paste anything into the menu bar above, lol.

(top left button clicked). :-(

It makes me very grumpy that anyone uses IE these days. It has been a total crock of shit for the last 10 years what's wrong with all you IE users? Do you perform self harm in other areas of your life?

All this computerised MOT stuff is great if you lose your certificate, but if you're trying to tax your car early and be a bit sneaky, it's a right load of shit.

I have to use Firefox at work...

I feel dirty enough having had to install Office 365 on my new hard drive but I got it for free so needs must.  :-)

That appears to have worked so I fear my IE days are numbered.  :-(

Humbug, all this new fangled malarky...

I'm clinging on to Netscape Navigator, surely the Austin Princess of browsers.

I still use IE as I prefer the interface, but I always open up Autoshite on Firefox as IE simply can't cope with it.

Hmm, Firefox, eh, I'll give it a go.

Well I wonder if this will work, let's try cutting and pasting a link.

Now to try to upload a photograph.

Well that seems to work, so hard luck I seem to be back, the ebay tat thread won't know what's hit it.

That iPhone showed up today and it's absolutely fine, aside from one thing.

It's locked to fucking Vodafone.

I want to get a contract on Three for fuck's sake, I'm seriously tempted to just buy a pay as you go SIM, and take the £20ish hit myself, I can't be arsed dealing with the halfwit seller any more. I could do it for free, but I'd need to borrow the details of someone who'd had a Vodafone contract for over year to do it, and well, that's fraud innit?

I had an iphone 3GS and took it to a local shop* who unlocked it for £15.

What iOS and baseband is it on? And what model is it?

Baseband is listed as "Modem Firmware" in Settings>General>About. It's near the very bottom.

You did well then because I either had to pay £70 and lose the 'phone for a fortnight or go through my carrier and pay £20.50. I chose the latter and had a month or six weeks of absolute hell with Orange, who then redeemed themselves.

3 are ok but the network is surprisingly patchy despite some of their promises. I went sim only by the way and have said myself a small fortune.

Left freezer unplugged for a few days. All food ruined. Only noticed when fish fingers (the expensive cod ones) appeared to be a bit flexible.

Have been stepping over the plug in order to put things in the freezer during that time.

The Polo that "ran fine" that my sister left me to sell after she pissed off to Aus doesn't fucking start AT ALL if you leave it more than a day, she "forgot" to tell me it was that bad. Strongest battery of anything thought, it turned over for absolutely ages without hinting of going flat.

In the end I got it going by unplugging temp sender (they flood themselves when the sender is shit) and turning it over for ages again. Took it round the block to clear it's throat and it banged out at the top of the hill. Definitely needs ignition components, luckily most of them are interchangeable to my T25 (leads, cap, rotor arm, coil) so I will throw parts at it til it's OK, probably. If I can be bothered.

I was told it "drove fine" and assumed it probably did seeing as they were all over the country in it all the time. Seems not, glad I've had no takers on it and wasted peoples time with a test "drive"!

What the fuck is that about then? Time was you installed Office and that was that, now they want to stiff you £70 every year for it.

In other news:

Ouch. Ripped a hole in my hand with one of the gates at work. Lucilly because I was at work I lobbed a dental collagen pack on it to halt the torrent of blood.

Sell it to 'cartakeback' for her

They are all jumping aboard that ship, no discs supplied just a scrap of card with a serial number, so no internet, no software.  No installing Photoshop in 3 years time on a new system using your old discs and serial number etc.

I got the Office for free so have a year without paying anything and will look for a copy of 2010 or something with discs etc.

Continuous licensing - license to rob people blind more like.

MTK 2.5 for MS

I have already tried to swap it for that 80s passat TD on RR, Cartakeback is looming but there's 4 months tax (that's registered at an address they don't live at anymore so no cashing in without some hassle) and it's insured as well, so I'll probably just leave it at the bottom of the drive as a backup backup commuter for a few months. It's not a bad motor overall though, if it wasn't fuppin purple I would probably run it myself.

Im alright now I have managed to find and download a copy of Office Pro-plus as I have a legit serial for that.
