I've decided what my next car will be, and have agreed a deal. Just waiting to find out if a certain kind shiter is collecting it for me this weekend or next. Watch this space! This would be my fourth 'hands free' collection in a row!

I hope it's the BMW 540i because that would mean I can stop planning to go to Aberdeen!

In other news, the local birds don't seem to like the Tourer...

Just saw your FB tease of your new wheels.

Dibs, genuinely.

(But likewise I wish you a long and happy ownership)

Looks like they were doing target practice on your orange beacon.

Your roof bars are a handy perch; need some of those plastic hedgehog strips like they have in railway stations to keep the pigeons off.

Old person goo on the headrest. This will be burned, I don't think there is any saving it.

I look forward to seeing the bumpers after you've splodged some bumper and trim goop on them

Is it a dealer special? That looks like a dealer fit type sunroof rather than the factory tilt and slide. Plus I’m seeing slightly gaudy coachlines. We just need a slightly naff name to finish the ensemble off.

Yep, sunroof is a crap one

Brilliant! Presumably from a  rural Cambridgeshire dealership on a sales drive.

The sunroof whistles like nobodies business on the motorway ?

Fenlander. Because your local rover dealer cares about life below the mean sea level. With optional snorkel to counter localised flooding risk and buoyancy aid/ distress flare in the tool kit.

Sunroof leaks. Took it to the local hand wash. Ended up drenched.

These cars are like chalk and cheese. The Tourer is top spec, electric everything, but has led a hard life. The Hatch is absolutely base spec, and has had a gentle life. Engine feels lively (for an XUD), and apart from some creaks and rattles, is a decent car to drive.

Local car wash has some quality chod next door!

I'm glad you seem happy with it.

Those Fenlander decals are outstanding.

I had one of those dealer sunroofs in my Renault, always leaked. If you can find the right profile you could replace the seal, I just used to put grease around mine.

Was nice taking it completely out and opening the rear quarter windows though.

Are regional dealer special editions no longer a thing? I can’t remember when I last saw one knowingly.

Does it have power steering?  If not it's pretty much the twin of this one I owned two years ago.  Same spec (other than sunroof & graphics), colour and lacquer peel...

Yes, it has power steering. Yours was a year earlier, when they didn't put power steering on the base models.

This is so base spec, it doesn't have any wood!
