I'm off work tomorrow, so I'm embarking on a long drive to the North East to swap over a nice practical and economical car for a cabriolet with a large* engine.

Autoshite sense!

Anyway, the first leg will start around 5am tomorrow, when I drive my Perodua nearly 300 miles.

Only things to report is that the odometer stopped working after 80 miles. Hope that isn't a deal-breaker @robthedonkey! Also an artic tried to kill me, but that's normal, isn't it?

My back is a little sore, but I'm not surprised as it was before I started!

Stop 3 - Durham services

Nothing to report, except that the buyer of the Perodua has pulled out due to insurance reasons, so it is now for sale / roffle.

It's looking a tad filthy though...

Car now collected. Gone up the road a bit but still on hold to insurance company.

Verdict? I hate it already, perhaps I can learn to live with it though.

Funnily enough, my insurance company are trying to charge me 72 quid per month today when the quote yesterday was 46.

Been on the phone half an hour.

I got them to match yesterday's quote, and to waive the admin fee. ?

As for the car, its heavy, rattly (scuttle shake) and very uncomfortable. I just don't like it.

Been good as gold on the motorway so far though.

Just stopped at Scotch Corner..

Am quite disappointed ? I thought it was a great car and really comfy with good leather seats.  Sorry you're not getting on with it.

If you don't like it why not drive back, collect the Perodua and take that home, and L1 can re-draw the roffle, or gift it to someone who actually wanted to win it in the first place?

FWIW, it looks like a lovely car to me and a good example of a sadly rare car these days.

^ I can't believe I'm saying that, this is the car I was intending to use to drive 4 up to Toulon in the spring without a moment's hesitation.

I fucking hate this car. My back hurts so much as well as my calf. Not in a good mood...
