The annual Chumley meet up is but a mere 2 1/2 months away...

Last years line up...

Chumley always brings highlights like the year we pushed Huggy into the ring!

And happy shiters from the many corners of the UK congregating for fun and chod related chatting!

Anywho, reminiscing over...

The facts are as follows:

The festival of 1000 classic cars at Chlomondoley castle in Cheshire Sunday September 1st.

The Autoshambles club will once again be represented. Tickets bought as part of the ‘club’ display are £4.50. I am happy to sort out tickets again this year.

Forwarded details to Brother Fumbler to see if he wants to take P38 to the Autoshite stand. "Solid Maybe" right now. Hopefully the deadlines will help him make a decision.

Am I tea ladying it in the camper van again? If I am and you’re lucky I might even splash out and get some chocolate hobnobs!

I think Amy is in france with 'him' and the kids so I might be able to... Fuel will cost a bit though, will have to save up. I'll have a ponder

Brother just spoke to me and said this:

"£4.50???!?!?!? It will cost £100 in fuel just to get there!"

I'd say that's a perfect reason to go myself.

Welcome to Autoshite.

Thanking you. I’m learning. I keep randomly clicking stuff and getting lost (I’m far better with cars than computers), so Brownnova is having to give me an idiot’s guide ?

That all depends if we can get the camper through another MoT! Glad to hear you’re coming too ?

To be honest, I don’t think you have a choice. I’ll hold the tea and coffee supplies to ransom. ?

I'll not be getting back from the Faroe Islands until Saturday night, but

I can bring the big tent and stoves for tea brewing etc. if needed (see below from 2017).

what are sleeping arrangements for this, will my smoll tent fit? Or is it airbed in the car?

No camping at the site but if I can come then you can crash at mine about an hour and a half further south.

Yes I'm coming, in a car this time instead of as a passenger hopefully. Civic perhaps.

I still have the banner and I've decided to keep it, so it'll be there.

That's a fair shout, might take you up on that then we drive up together or something. Was going to see if CHris posts up and ask if I could share a lift, still might...

Fuck it, I'll be in too, few months to save up for petrol yet, should get paid for a job next week too so I'll have money for the ticket

Only 2hr30 on the motorway or 3hr15 back roads. Also they take any car pre 2004 as a classic, so my Boxster would be eligible. Could take the MGB of course but being a Sunday it'd be a same day job. That sort of journey would be rather exhausting to do it in a day in the BGT. Also the Boxster is quite a bit shiner...

I'd love to be doing it in the 1100 and I'd love to have it done by then. However progress has slowed a fair bit recently and probably unlikely to be finished by then. :(

I'll check with Mrs SiC that we aren't already booked for something on that day, but hopefully it'll be a yes from me.

Ooh, excellent.  I'll try to have the Dyane ready, but the Blingo can be backup! ?

I'm heading to Somerset in the Invacar a few days after this event, so makes sense to drive it further north first.

EDIT - what is with the daft line-spacing on this site at the moment?!

As I've mentioned before, modern computer based things tend to give you a double return for anything. If you want a simple one line return, use shift+return.

I hope to maintain my tradition of having turned up in a different car each time I've been to this.

That is an impressive tradition Eifion! Will the 2CV be ready in time?

I managed a different vehicle 4 years in a row, if I remember correctly. It would have been 5 if I was allowed to bring the bus in.

Then the man complained only two vehicles entered the commercial concourse competition. Arse holes.
