DavidB Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Removing several of those @ name mentions on a raffle is impossible - does anyone know how to remove them. You can't hilight them to delete them, delete key or backspace key doesn't work. How is it done?

It seems to just be something that happens sometimes - I've never managed to resolve it save for just reloading the page and clearing the cached text - so if there's anything in there you DO want to keep, copy/paste it into notepad or something first. It happens sometimes when you insert hyperlinks as well and is absolutely maddening. DavidB 1
bunglebus Posted May 30 Posted May 30 I can never delete smiley faces etc, presumably for the same reason

Handful of threads are constantly auto refreshing on both my phone and MacBook irrespective of browser. Forgotten Music and Computershite threads have done this for past few hours. Just wondering if it’s the huge number of links and photos in them but computershite was fine yesterday. I've just seen this. Are you or anyone else still having issues with this? Not had it myself so a bit trickier to diagnose unless there was a way to repeat.

Spiny Norman Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Might just be my laptop but tonight there seems to be a glitch in the matrix where if I reply to a thread it says 'saving' for ages and only posts my comment when I hit the browser refresh button.

Spiny Norman Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Is it working now? Testing... Edit: Aye, someone's put 50p in the meter and we're all good.
Zelandeth Posted June 10 Posted June 10 ...The fscking editor eating your whole post bug is indeed still alive and well I can report. It just got me again.
SiC Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Some of my threads seem to have disappeared from my own "Content I've started" which is a bit weird. As it's probably going to be happening for others on their own threads too, I've kicked off a search index rebuild. Usually it takes a couple of hours. So if you find search a bit temperamental and not finding everything today that's going to be why. High Jetter and Mrs6C 2
SiC Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Something/someone is hammering the crap out of the site at the moment and making it go really slow as the server resources are being consumed. I've turned on Cloudflare under attack mode which should prevent bots hammering the site. It will mean you get "are you a human?" prompt which you've probably already ticked. I'll turn it off in a bit when hopefully the hammering subsided. nomiST, loserone, IronStar and 9 others 3 7 2

Tickman Posted June 26 Posted June 26 I was wondering if it was my internet being shit, loads better now. Thanks @SiC barefoot 1
SiC Posted June 26 Posted June 26 It seems to break Tapatalk unfortunately. I need to look at the stats and see where it's coming from so I can block it. However I'm elbow deep behind a BMW inlet manifold and this was the quickest solution to get things back! 😅 Also reassuring it's nothing amiss on the server as the load dropped right off when I hit that under attack mode. Might turn it back off again and see if it's subsided. richardmorris 1
SiC Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Turned it off and load spiked again. Looks like it's coming from Brazil. At least we don't usually have there as the third place. I've added Brazil to the list where you always get a "are you a human?" prompt. Also in that list is Russia, China and Hong Kong. Sorry if you're from Brazil and inconvenienced by this especially if you can't use Tapatalk. If you are, pop a message here and I'll figure something out (I suspect it's possibly no one!) richardmorris 1
Coprolalia Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Something trying to brute force entry? But weird to attack this site unless they're trying to gain access?

SiC Posted July 1 Posted July 1 The forum needs another maintenance update applying today. All being well it'll be around 5 to 10 minutes of downtime. Please don't try submitting any posts during this time as they may get lost. The message at the top of the page will disappear when done. Dyslexic Viking, LightBulbFun and adw1977 3

Dyslexic Viking Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Just have to mention that the forum has been a little slow for me at times for the last hour and got this once. SiC 1
SiC Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Anyone else reported any issues? I've been dipping in and out over today but haven't noticed anything.
Dyslexic Viking Posted July 4 Posted July 4 The forum has been working fine for an hour now for me so it seems to have fixed itself. SiC 1
Zelandeth Posted Saturday at 22:18 Posted Saturday at 22:18 Forum is currently (2317) running almost unusably slow.

Zelandeth Posted Saturday at 22:20 Posted Saturday at 22:20 Yep, seems to be back to normal now, three minutes later!
