Epic collection Rover 213 gives up on collection so the guy has abandoned it in Market Harborough and even provided a pic of the station platform in case we didn't know what a railway station looked like LOL!

Oh that is a beauty of a spot. Hilarious story behind sale, random photo of train station, request for Bluetooth stereo return, superfluous photo of boot release and an ironic VDP numberplate on a 213 with the rev counter sized fuel gauge. I want to get this printed on high quality art paper and framed above my fireplace just before a Hello magazine shoot.

That Rover 213 story is funny but a bit tragic too. Half tempted to go and pick it up and chuck a new fuel pump on it for him so he can drive the fupping thing home!!!

That 213 advert is fantastic, the poor bugger, and there was me moaning about having a bad day! What's the betting that A: someone has nicked the car, B: someone has nicked the BT stereo after reading that ebay ad or C: the winning buyer doesn't return the BT stereo?.

CAL IMPORT

if you're going to all the trouble and expense of shipping a car half way around the world, why wouldn't you import a slightly better one?

SX is bottom spec - of my two I prefer my SX - less to go wrong!

That Rover 213 thing could have happened to any of us, certainly me. It comes with the risks of trying to drive old shite back any distance. I recon if I was to do that kind of thing again I'd make sure I had home recovery added to my AA cover.

Posted

^Yes, that's the key. Sounds like this geezer had AA cover but no home recovery option - which just means that the patrolman comes out, looks under the bonnet and says "it's fucked - see ya" before leaving the hapless Rover owner there.

If he'd had home recovery there would have been no problem (well, only a very small problem).

They used these on US bases here in the UK, so it could be an ex one of them?

Description says it's freshly imported from California.

Is that California in Norfolk?
