It's got a '380' number plate and what I think is a Piper 3-1 and it's only two grand.

THIS is a very odd one to see in the local house clearance auction, they very very occcasionally punt on the odd motorbike, but never whole cars - 2015 low miles, no MOT, NOTHING in the scant description to suggest it starts and runs, but then nothing to suggest it doesnt - just "Sold as seen, no warranty given or implied. No refunds or returns."

Ex plod?

Actually, that'd make sense as one picture shows it with cloth seats? They've got it up elsewhere for six grand.

For sale is my cherished example of a Rover 45 2004 54 1.6 Club Saloon 4dr Petrol Manual with 36680 Miles finished Firefrost Red.

First Registered by the supplying dealer (Holden MG Rover Norwich) on 31/12/2004 and then owned by a local gentleman for 19 years. He meticulously looked after and maintained the car. I acquired the car in January 2025 and it has been a joy to own as a second car. It has been garage after use by the previous owner and covered in my ownership. I have enjoyed taking it to local shows.

Extensive service history paperwork and books supplied:

When did the 1.6s stop being a Honda engine and start being Kettle series?

Or is that a Honda in disguise?

I only learned of the 1.6 K series in the past year when Jon Coupland on YouTube mentioned he bought a 45 with that engine in 2023/24. I had assumed that they were all Honda units. Not sure of the date but Honda forbade Rover Group from using that engine after a period of time. I believe that's why the dashboard designs changed on the latest 25s and 45s.

I thought auto 1.6 45s started off with Honda engines but manuals always had K series lumps. Maybe I have been misinformed but my Y reg manual 1.6 45 appears to be K series.
